You do not need an expensive soundbar if you just wanna better sound from ur tv compared to the built in speakers...which alot of them suck. I have 2 of these and I love the sound they give off. Worth every penny.

I installed it on an outside TV in an RV which replaced a car stereo with 4 4" speakers. This blows the old system away. Easy to setup and use. Allows for Bluetooth streaming via mobile device.

Great upgrade for basic tv speakers.

It works for that function. Much louder, and clearer. The only downside is the optical connection only worked on one device and stopped working entirely within a week. I swapped to the audio jack and have had no issues, or noticeable difference in audio quality.
