Q: Why does this go off on its own?

The Bose TV Speaker is a small soundbar that clarifies speech and improves overall TV sound. Inside there are two full-range drivers angled to deliver wide, spatial sound, while the center tweeter specifically focuses on clarifying speech. And built-in Dolby decoding enhances the audio capabilities of your TV Speaker to deliver a more realistic and satisfying listening experience. Designed with simplicity in mind, a single connection to your TV has you up and running in no time. This connection can be either an optical audio cable (included) or an HDMI cable (sold separately). At just over 2″ (5 cm) tall, this TV Speaker is small enough to fit just about anywhere. Place it in front of your TV or mount it to the wall. Plus small LED lights on the front turn on and/or change color when certain features are enabled or when the volume is adjusted. The Bose TV Speaker also has HDMI-CEC, which allows the TV and soundbar to communicate when connected by an HDMI cable. So when you turn the TV on, the soundbar will automatically turn on too, and you can even continue using your current TV remote to control the volume of the soundbar. However, the Bose TV Speaker also has its own remote. On it, you can pair your Bluetooth device to wirelessly stream your favorite music or podcasts, enable Dialogue Mode to further elevate center vocals, or add a bass boost for some extra depth. And the Bose TV Speaker is Roku TV Ready certified. Meaning, it’s designed to work seamlessly with a Roku TV. When connected to a Roku TV via an HDMI cable, you’ll enjoy smooth, automatic setup, easy access to the TV Speaker sound settings in the Roku TV on-screen menu, and compatibility with the Roku TV remote. If you’re looking for even more bass or just want to expand your system, you can add a subwoofer for more theater-quality home theater sound. The Bose TV Speaker requires a wired connection and is compatible with the Bose Bass Module 500 or 700 (Bose Bass Module Connection Cable sold separately).

Sounds good. Easy enough to install to the TV. If you want to use a HDMI, you'll have to purchase one separately. Won't connect with the Insignia TV program to use the volume through the TV I've tried several times to connect with it. Have to use it separately via remote. No volume bar to let you know how loud it is. I have it on theater setting. It's like bak in the early 2000s when the commercials were louder than the actual show. It also depends on the streaming service I'm watching as to sound quality. Overall I'm happy with the sound bar. And the price I paid for it.

I just got my new soundbar set up and I have to say, I'm more impressed than I thought I'd be. I would definitely recommend this for a medium-sized bedroom. I keep it locked in Theater mode and the dynamics sound super good. I'm already noticing little sounds in my video games and movies that I've never noticed before. When I purchased this soundbar, it was about $50, not including tax. I'm seeing that the listing price is increasing slowly, but for what I got it for, I think it's a pretty good deal. I might drag it out to the living room sometimes for movie night. I do appreciate how many connection options it comes with for the price, and that the company was so kind as to include the necessary cables. I chose to use my neglected Optical Audio port for this soundbar. All in all, a pretty good unit for $50. I'm not sure if I would spend much more on it than what I did. If you're an audiophile, it probably won't impress you, but it brings out sounds well and seems to be pretty sturdy. Just make sure you have enough space for it.

Amazon TV series 4 has a bit of an issue where vioces are super quiet when using streaming services (no sound settings anywhere on tv or streaming service fixed it) but youtube and games are loud. Grabbed these bad boys at a discount to see if it would help. They 100% did, movies are so much better now. They were super easy to set up, sounds great, and simple to use. The little light on the front can be a tad bright, but a strategically placed sticker dulls it out just enough and gives it character! Also came with every cable except hdmi, but it has the port so you can just grab one or use a spare. highly recommend if you need a quick fix for a quiet tv and you don't want to break the bank. I have 2 TV's side by side for gaming purposes so they were just the thing for me and they spouse!
