Bad sound Bar

Item did not function as it should. Talked with Insignia and they gave me different info then what was in the instructions. Had to return for an exchange since it did not work.

While it does amplify the sound from my television, there are, it turns out, three different ways of connecting it with decreasing sound quality associated with each. My particular TV (an Insignia 50" flat screen about six or seven years old) still works beautifully but occasionally I stream a film with poor sound quality and need to bump it up a bit. Well, because of the age of my TV it does not include corresponding points of connection to the two highest quality ways of connecting to the sound bar. Consequently my sound amplification includes crackling noises. Must I buy a new TV to benefit from this sound bar? It would seem so. Not going to happen!
