Had to be within a foot for it to work, and yes, I did change the batteries- 3 times. Ended up returning to best buy.

Not worth the Great Deal

I am not a sound Freak and do not invest in sound bars , woofers etc. I have a Media room with a Sony speaker system that came with the DVD Player. we have a Vizio sound bar 2.1 connected to our Samsung 4k TV. we also bought a HI sense tv this year , but the sound was poor and hence we bought this one on sale for 79 bucks from Best Buy but this is not even close to the 7 year old Vizio sound bar, I bought a refurbished Bose solo from Bose for 99 $ and it is much better . Best Buy is great in deals this speaker has really bad clarity.

I compared it with another Insignia soundbar and a Vizio one. The sound quality was much inferior and almost muffled. In some cases it had it turned all the way up and was still too soft.

Audio latency on some video formats.

There is some lag/latency on certain video formats, I'm still unsure how to fix this as there is no documentation not settings to change.

My Sound Bar

I bought 2 ! Looks nice but the sound is ok

Does NOT turn on with the TV

A real pain have to keep TWO remotes just to turn it on. The cable remote is setup to the sound bar.

Solid Sound, Poor Lifespan

However, I’ve been struggling for about a week or two with the sound cutting in and out, the bass dropping out, and rather constant fluctuations in volume. I’ve tried troubleshooting and have yet to find a solution, so the prospect of winding up with < 1 year out of this is incredibly disappointing. Hopefully this is an abnormality and those reviewers who rated this higher got a better return on their investment.
