It pales in comparison to the 5.1 system we have in the other room, but the sound is superior to the tiny speakers on the TV, itself.

Not as good as I'd hoped

I read the reviews, and purchased this soundbar on sale with the hope of getting a more accurate (if underpowered) sound. The output volume is good. Mid-range and High tones are crisp and clean. Low-mid tones are pretty good, too. But the subwoofer really only kicks in at high volume - even after setting the TV equalizer manually. I don't watch the news that loud, so I'm a little disappointed with the purchase for my needs. Hopefully it will make a difference when Football games resume.

Could have included optical cable in the box

Insignia Sound Bar,nice but wrong one

Adequate for the price..... but

There is some latency that requires the TV speakers to be turned off, or else there is a blurring of sound between the TV and the sound bar. The subwoofer provided adequate bass for my living room. Ultimately I returned the item, as I was looking for more of a "surround sound" experience (5.1 instead of 2.1). It would have been nice if the product came with the optical digital cable. I had to purchase that seperately. The red and white audio cables would be adequate for most uses.
