Pleasantly surprised
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hooked up the Insignia soundbar and wireless sub to our family room TV. It has 3 options for hookup: RCA, Optical, and Bluetooth. I hooked it up via RCA because I didn’t have a spare optical cable. That room is a very large room, about 14 x 25. When my kids play xbox, they sit about 5-6 ft away and this was where we sat when trying out the sound for the first time. I have to say I was impressed by the sound. Very crisp and clear. I have carpet in that room and since the sub’s speaker aims down, I placed it on a wooden board to get it off the floor. Bass sounded better when the carpet wasn’t absorbing it. It’s nice and loud and not distorted. We then moved to the couch which was at the back off the room about 20-25ft away and then we were blown away. The sound was so much better at that distance. My husband is partially deaf and has a very hard time with people talking in movies, especially if they talk low. He was able to hear the conversations easily. The sound quality on standard setting is excellent. The remote feels very cheap. It’s thin and uses the CR2025 batteries. I wasn’t able to get the back off, but there was just a plastic film to remove to get it working and that came out easily. There are three settings for sound: Standard, Theater, and News. Standard sounds the best with music, TV and gaming. Everything is crisp and clear. Theater is my least favorite. It seems to mute everything just a bit. It tries to sound richer, but fails. News is better for talking. It backs the bass off a lot and increases the treble. It’s not bad, but Standard is really the best. The remote also has buttons for increasing and decreasing the bass. There is a noticeable difference when increasing and decreasing. I like that the bass can be adjusted as desired. When increasing and decreasing the overall volume is extremely noticeable when the buttons are pressed. There is too much of a jump with each press. It feels like there should be at least one or two steps between. Overall, I’m really impressed with the sound quality especially for the price, but I’m not fond of the remote. I would recommend this product to others.

Poor sound and horrible remote
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went cheap with this soundbar and immediately regretted it. Sound was pitiful and it was difficult to get it to switch inputs. Remote was useless and so tiny it was comical. Might be fine for very someone that just has cable hooked up to it, but just barely.

Never worked correctly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this sound bar because of the price. Wasn't looking for a huge overhaul to my existing sound just an upgrade. Huge box for such a tiny bar and woofer. Once unpacked discovered better option would be optical cable that's not included. Ok used plan B to hook it all up. Except for the woofer. All we got was a blinking blue light. It would not sync with the sound bar. Reset it manually at least 10 times. Went to website to troubleshoot for other options and followed every step 10 more times. Still no woofer. Took the unit back and exchanged for sound bar that came with the optical cable for roughly the same price. Exchange was easy and painless which was great!

Never purchase again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awful, awful. I purchased this soundbar just add a bit more sounds quality to my TV, but it was the wrong purchased. The stupid thing only works with Comcast Cable TV and not with when playing movies, music and videos etc. I returned the darned thing!! Lessons learned, and will never again buy!
