The wireless woofer needs to be better, but the sound volume that it gets is great for us that don't hear well

This is a fantastic sound system. I have to say, I grabbed this at $50 somehow and in someway. The bass is very deep and smooth while it can pack a punch. The sound bar addresses very nice high and mid tones. I tested it out with Planet Earth II in 4K and it really made it sound alive. I will say this isn’t first sound bar and I am happy it has Bluetooth, but why old A/V connectivity? No HDMI gives you either the Optical cable as an option or Bluetooth for new TVs. It doesn’t include the optical so make sure if your tv has Bluetooth or an Aux port. Overall, I can’t vouche for a $150 price tag, but for $50 or maybe even $100, it is fantastic!

The Insignia NS-SB515 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer is a good entry-level sound system. Literally in 10 minutes, or less, you can be listening to your device through it. Hook it up to your TV, Blu-ray player, cable box or other device by either a digital optical sound cable (not provided) or RCA sound source through a RCA audio cable (provided) with or without the RCA 3.5 mm adapter (included). In addition, you can connect the Insignia Soundbar through Bluetooth from your phone, computer or other Bluetooth device. The Subwoofer connects wirelessly through the Soundbar. In short, you plug your Soundbar into an outlet, plug the Subwoofer into an outlet, then hook your Soundbar to your device through one of the ways mentioned above. Good, clear instructions are included. This system comes with a remote that allows you to choose the source (optical, RCA, Bluetooth) so you can actually have more than one source hooked up to your Soundbar at the same time. You then select the one you want - optical from your TV? Fine. Bluetooth from your phone or computer? Fine. Switch between them? Fine. The remote also has the normal volume controls for the Soundbar and separate volume controls for the Subwoofer. In addition, you can pick either of three settings for the DPS (digital signal processor): Standard, Theater or News. You get a different blend of treble and bass with each. The Soundbar can be set flat on a table where your TV sets or can be mounted to the wall (wall mounting bracket and template included) below or even above your wall-mounted TV. The Subwoofer can set anywhere in the room since the low frequency sound it produces is non-directional. All-in-all the Insignia NS-SB515 provides good quality sound, is simple to set up, is inconspicuous, and it won't break the bank to buy one.

This is a great little sound bar with Bluetooth that is just perfect for my living room when I just need to fill the room with music. It adds a nice room filling sound that is clear without being over loud. The Only con is the optical input requires PCM input and my optical out on my TV just doesn't do that. But the optical out from my desktop did drive the sound without an issue once I got it to output to the correct format and sounded great. The Bluetooth pairs quickly with phones and other devices, and have a good range. The wireless subwoofer drives a nice amount of base and can be placed for best effect if needed. I also like that the remote have a separate volume for the subwoofer. Overall this is a great 2.1 sound bar for a medium sized room that you need to fill with sound. If you need a simple system I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

I got this soundbar and subwoofer several days ago and have been nothing but pleased. For the price of the system the quality is excellent. Granted, it's not on the same level as a $2,000 system but it's not meant to be. I have had Vizio sound bars in the past and this insignia system definitely has better overall sound. It was extremely simple to set up, taking well under 5 minutes. The only negative I can possibly say about this product is the relatively dull appearance. Everything is solid black with no accenting, but it's not a big deal. Honestly, you would be hard pressed to find a similar combo at the same price with the same quality. Great product

I bought this bc it was a "deal of the day". Thought the sound bar was wireless or Bluetooth but unfortunately it's not. Well I guess at least the subwoofer is Bluetooth. I spent over $10,000 at Best Buy within the last 8 months. However I had the worst experience during my last visit. I left the Chapman store in Anaheim furious they treated me like I was a criminal. Anyways I guess I'm done w Best Buy.

This is the first sound bar I ever purchased so I didn't quite know what to expect. What I got was crisp and clear audio. When I listened to music, the bass kicked in. The install was a snap. Instead of using the RCA wires I used an optical cable. If you use the optical connection, you must change your device's audio output setting to "PCM" format. A steal for the price I got it at!

My FIrst Soundbar - Real Easy Install

I planned to use this soundbar to improve the audio from my Vizio TV in the bedroom. Connection was very simple and straightforward. You have a choice of one of two methods of audio connection, either two RCA audio cables or a single optical digital connection. My TV offered both so I went with the digital connection. The instructions warned to make sure the TV digital output was "PCM" which I found in the TV menu settings so this was no problem. The only other connection was 'power' and I was on my way. The enclosed 6.5" subwoofer is totally wireless except for a power connection. It connects wirelessly to the soundbar without any assistance from you. When you power up the soundbar the blinking blue LED in the back becomes solid, letting you know all is fine. The unit has built in bluetooth which also worked effortlessly. It found my smartphone in just a few seconds and I was connected. I selected 'bluetooth' as my source from the remote control and my music was playing throughout the room. The soundbar's sound quality is very good, certainly much better than the speakers built into my flat screen TV, and since this was the main reason I wanted to use the soundbar I was happy. I don't think I'd replace my 5 speaker surround sound living room setup with this device, but for use in a smaller room it's really ideal.
