It seems they gave a good amount of thought to what features should be included, but not to the execution of those features. I'll first address the connection options, then the sound quality, then the appearance. Connections: This sound bar allows you to connect an Optical source, RCA source, and Bluetooth source all at the same time. On the remote you can switch which input is being used at any given time. This works well if you want to connect your TV to the Optical input and a stereo to the RCA input (with the provided adapter if you only have a 3.5mm headphone output. The Bluetooth, however, does not work as well as expected. It pairs easily enough, needing about 45 seconds or so to establish a connection. The sound quality is great once the connection is established. However, the sound bar powers down if no sound is coming through for about 10 minutes. This messes up the connection, such that it cannot be re-established without telling your other device to forget the sound bar, then reconnecting from scratch. Do not trust connecting a computer in this way, as the connection will drop almost every time you walk away. Sound Quality: Where is the mid-range!? The sound bar itself handles the high-end well, and the sub woofer provides a nice level of bass, which you can adjust independently of the volume thanks to the control on the remote. However, it sounds like someone took the mix and just scooped out all of the mid-range. If you're considering this as a gift for an audiophile, look elsewhere. My main interest is music, and this product does not do justice to even lower quality mp3 files. Appearance: I think this is where your money is going. It is a very nice looking product, and the wireless connection between the sound bar and the sub woofer is nice, eliminating one potentially ugly cable. However, this does mean that the sub woofer has to be plugged in to a separate wall outlet, adding a cable that would otherwise not be required. Otherwise, the appearance is quite nice, with the felt covering on the sound bar and minimalist appearance of the sub woofer. I think your money is going more to the appearance of this device than the audio reproduction. TL,DR: Nice connection options, but Bluetooth will drop after 10 minutes of inactivity and need to be reconnected from scratch. The sound has almost no mid-range, making music sound hollow. Your money is likely going into the appearance and trendy form-factor of the sound bar, more-so than the audio reproduction.

Got this sound bar for $40. Had some visitors over and they were blown away by the sound and base. I would pay twice what I paid and would be very happy.

Well you get what you pay for. These speakers sound well for the price. The speakers were packaged very well and I set them up without any even looking at the owners manual. The only thing wrong is the sub woofer. It sounds alright but I wish you could adjust it with a knob instead of the remote and the blue light on the back to tell you it is in standby blinks like a K-Mart blue special very annoying at night. But overall as I said very good sounding speakers for the price.

This is my very first soundbar. I have a couple of Insignia electronics at home and they have worked well so far. I have this mini Bluetooth speaker from insignia and just that little thing has such a great sound. I saw this soundbar on sale and decided to take on that deal. I have about a week with this soundbar and I am 100% satisfied. I have recommended it to family members already. The sound is so good that I don't even go at least 1/4 more in volume because it is so smooth and the right amount of loudness you want it to be (:

This Soundbar setup took 3 minutes and its remote took another minute to figure out. The clarity and depth of sound for this price put big smile on my face. While gaming(call of duty, battlefront), the sound and "feedback" (via subwoofer) from this thing really delivers an immersive quality to my senses, took me to another level. i like so much i bought another one and gifted to my dad for his man cave. Girlfriend doesnt like so much cause the loudness and shaking makes it so i cannot hear her telling me things...sooo i do not use it while watching news and some tv programs so we can still talk without competing with Soundbar. But for movies and game time it definitely on... oh and while doing chores and stuff it pairs to my phone via Bluetooth for great music time. btw, I recommend an optical cable over the rca's .. 5 stars if it came with optical cable. room dimension im using it in is about 12x14

I purchased this system the day after Christmas, plugging in the optical cable was a bit tricky, but not that difficult. The sound from the bar with the subwoofer has made an incredible difference. Purchased an LG 50” LCD TV recently as well and the sound though acceptable was missing some of the low and high tones that help to bring seen together, i.e. crunching leaves as a character walks in woods, sharp clasps of steal banging together, or the feel of an explosion.

Overall this is a nice little addition to expand your home theater setup. For anyone looking to give their TV a little extra sound, this is a great little setup. While not 5.1/7.1 surround sound, the sound quality out of these speakers is surprisingly good. As these are only stereo sound, they are still good sounding speakers. The 6.5" bass provides pretty good bass. While it can tend to be a little boomy at times, the overall sound is pretty good. Setup is pretty simple and straight forward. Hook up a few RCA cables and power cords and you're pretty much done. This speaker system isn't nearly as elaborate as other mid/high end speaker systems so the install time is significantly shorter. With the benefit of bluetooth, you can also pair these speakers with any bluetooth enabled device. In addition to working with your TV, you can use these speakers to play music from your phone/tablet as well which is nice. I set mine up with an iPhone 6+ so I'm assuming it should work with any bluetooth enabled device. Overall, this is a nice home theater set either for your home/office/dorm room. Being that it's relatively inexpensive compared to other models, I'd say this is a good buy for whatever your needs.

I bought this for my wife. She uses the living room for watching movies & listens to music thru the tv. The tv speakers can't handle volume. So I thought I'd get her a sound bar to make life better for her & improve the listening experience. Christmas 2015 price was 130, then fell to 100. So I bought to try. My first experience with Insignia. I set it up & at first it seemed very good. The sound was good. She connected her phone to it via BlueTooth & all that. It worked fine & sounded good. So later I changed to HBO to test it more. The Sci-Fi movie Contact was on. I watch for 20 min. End of the movie where Jodi Foster is in the contraption & gets dropped thru space - there's a lot of rumble & loud noise. That's where this sound bar system failed! The Subwoofer started clipping. (It would rumble then shut off, reset it self, come back on seconds later, rumble again, shut off after a few seconds and continue this cycle) I turned down the overall volume & symptom stopped. I turned down the Sub volume all the way on the remote & then turned up the overall volume to a common level where you would watch movie at. The problem continued. Then the next day my wife is jamming to music thru the BT & her phone. The volume is up. Again, the Sub is clipping non stop! So I had to return it. If it can't handle medium level volume levels, it is useless. Since the function of this product is sound production & it can't do it's job at a medium level, I give it One star. Nothing higher.

This soundbar and subwoofer does boost my TV speaker at a reasonable price, but it has so many negative points that I would not recommend this product to others. To start with they audio cables that came with this product was defective and all I got was some static from the soundbar although it was working fine in Bluetooth mode. Luckily I had a spare one and the soundbar worked fine with that. As far as sound quality is concerned it does give a decent bass but ineffective on lower volume. If you are not looking for great sound but just to boost your weak TV sound and don’t want to spend much then you can consider this.

This sound bar replaced a Panasonic sound bar that I purchased with my Panasonic plasma TV. This bar is lighter than it and has a seperate wirless sub-woofer! It was very easy to unpack and install, and the connections were intuitive! The sound quality of the bar itself is much better than the Panasonic, and with the addition of the seperate sub-woofer the whole "listening experience" changed! I've noticed the biggest difference when watching movies with background low frequency sounds that weren't noticed before! My children love it because they can turn the sub-woofer up all the way without increasing the soundbar volume to for playing driving games! As with all Insignia brand products, I'd put this on the same level or above the name brand competitors in a marginally higher price range.

The remote has a separate volume control from the sub volume control for the sound bar. I can push up or down all day long and I cant tell a difference in the base level or volume. That's the only thing wrong with this system, but that's a big deal for me. The base will increase in volume with the increase on the sound bar but then its gotta be really loud to hear any base coming from this tiny sub.

i was nervous about buying this product, now i am glad i bought it. easy set-up and very good sound. the subwoofer has low-key bass so you can hear the voices on movies and shows. it's also been good on playing games on my ps4 and xbox one. i would recommend using optical and selecting source 1 on the remote control for best results. the remote control is good too. overall very pleased with soundbar. i would recommend this product..
