    The only reason I purchased this $30 tin can was because I was desperate to retrieve my data a from my old laptop which died on me and I couldn't wait for an online purchase. The case works well enough, but the fact that I paid $30 for a small box and a cable when similar products sold for a little over $8 I was quite salty. If it can wait, save yourself some cash and buy online.

    I ended up replacing this enclosure with one that was more compatible with using a 2.5 SSD drive with an enclosure. This kept disconnecting from my computer when being used in that way. It would probably work fine for a regular 2.5 HDD though, so if a friend needed an enclosure for that, I may recommend.

    This external enclosure really does a great job. It is a fast USB 3.0 interface, and is easy to swap hard drives in it as needed. Good for a backup device or just extended storage space. I would definitely recommend this item to everyone.
