My new laptop came with a 1 TB DATA drive at 5400 rpm. Even though the computer is fast, the drive slowed it down. I had an SSD in my old drive that was not compatible in the new laptop, but this was worth it. I do find it interesting that external drives are cheaper than the internal drives. I don't understand that, but I wanted the performance!!

It works. It's USB 3.0. Make sure to use a USB 3.0 port on your device. If you choose to use a HDD with a disk be sure to leave it on a flat surface and not to bump it while spinning. I used it to prepare an SSD for modding my fat PlayStation 2.

Case was easy to set up and worked well. Nice size case for transporting.

I was working on my taxes when my laptop died. Unfortunately, I had not backed the files yet. Fortunately, the laptop hard drive was still working. I rushed out and bought this hard drive enclosure. It was easy to install the laptop hard drive. I connected it to my wife's laptop and everything was good.

Laptop had a major hardware crash. I was able to save my work by removing the HardDrive and converting it to a portable harddrive in order to transfer the files to my other laptop. Saved over a $100 by doing it myself rather than having a computer repair tech do it for me. This is the 2nd time, I purchased shell and highly recommend it if needed.

Very happy with the performance and ease of use. It is being used for a hard drive that I replaced in a laptop.

The insignia hard drive holder works great I had several old hard drives that I wanted to get pictures and files off of and now with this it was easy open it up pop your old hard drive in plug it into your new computer/laptop and it turns it into an external hard drive I was able to down load everything with in minutes...

It was low costing enough to buy on a run and emergency. I am a student at college and it works with the San Disk 240 gb ssd. I am not a fan of the cable type, in general. But overall satisfied with my purchase. Plus, because the busy bee workers were indeed helpful both a plus for gender equality.

This enclosure was easy to install and seems very strong.

Easy to use and gives the ability to access 2.5" hard drives made for laptops that are not installed on a system any longer. Removes the need to have to install and remove hard drives in order to access data. Can double as a portable disk to allow for extra storage for a laptop or personal computer. Very durable design.

The case is easy to use, it even includes a screw driver for the installation. Had an SSD running in 10 minutes. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again should I need a simple external case.

I purchased this enclosure for my bad laptop hard drive hoping to recover my files. Only after setting it up on my router was I able to access my files. It was easy to install love this product.

Found my old laptop but couldn't get it to boot up. Hubby dismantled the entire insides and gave me the drive to find a case for. Viola! Was simple to fit in and now have all my pictures stored in a safe place along with some important documents I had been searching for. Life is good.

If have a 2.5 SATA drive laying around or pulled one out of a computer that you want to use an as external drive, this thing is awesome! Amazing transfer speeds and easy to install.
