Purchased this product in order to transfer my "old files" to my new computer. However, since I have a fast but limited to 250G SSD HD I decided to use my former HD as an external storage drive. Set up was a breeze and everything is working fine. Thus I am saving space on my SSD that would normally go toward seldom used stuff.

I have had this about a year in and a half. It was suggested over bigger screens and better known tablets. It was a good choice. Wish I would have downloaded more NVIDA games. The few I did download I have enjoyed. Still works great.

I purchased this enclosure to aid in swapping a new SDD into my old Macbook Pro. The transfer went through without a hitch, and as an added bonus I now get to use my old HDD as an external drive thanks to the enclosure!

My computer went out and I could not retrieve my work. I extracted the unit that holds everything together, placed it in the casing and now I am back in business. I was then able to transfer everything to my new computer and I am living "Happily Ever After"

Cheap way to get more use out of an old drive. USB3 really makes a difference.

very easy to get into and install a hard drive in it, very sturdy and amazingly light even with a drive in place. one slight flaw is that the cord it comes with is very stiff, and without any grips the case tends to slide when plugging in the cable.

I got it to put my Mac hard drive. Works perfect!!

When you think your external drive is dead, it may be the controls to run the drive that have gone bad. If the drive has power and is beyond the warranty period, you might want to remove the drive from the old case & insert it into a new case. Nothing lost; everything gained.....and the case is re-usable!!!!!

I thought that my hard drive from my old laptop was a goner. To my surprise I could still keep it and add to it. I was told about this product by one of the reps from the Geek Squad. Am so glad I purchased it. Didn't realize an item like this existed. Now I have another external hard drive.

I took a HDD out of a laptop and put it in this enclosure to give myself an external drive. Works perfectly. Easy to setup and easy to use. I'm able to put it in my gig bag (DJ service) and carry it with me everywhere. Very sturdy and light.

Provides excellent performance, easy to setup. Metal case does run a bit hot.

as expected works great...had to get something to salvage a dead computer's info...the hard drive was good, the motherboard died when some water was spilled onto the keyboard...i was able to get the information off the hard drive...am very pleased

This was a great find. It was in stock at my local store and is a very high quality piece. It took all of 3 minutes to assemble and I was up and running. It even came with the screwdriver to mount my drive. It is very well built and feels like an expensive portable hard drive. I would highly recommend this item.

This is a VERY DELICATE Device designed to turn your laptop hard drive into a External Portable, if you're laptop is being repaired or is no longer current with the times. Be care putting it together case its very device is very delicate.

I bought this so I could use my hard drive out of my old laptop that no longer worked. Now with this I’m able to retrieve all my old pictures and documents. It super easy to use and the directions on how to insert your hard drive is easy to follow. Great Product!

This hard drive enclosure is perfect for saving/extracting data from a broken laptop. Once you pull the drive from the old laptop, it connects to the enclosure in seconds and becomes just an external drive. Move your data over at you leisure, or just keep it as an external drive.

I purchased this product to read a few old laptop drives I had sitting around. It's very solid built and works great for laptop drives. I did try plugging in a 3.5" drive but it does not provide enough power for that type. Stick with laptop drives (it's intended purpose) and it works great!

We purchased this item as we were working on my sister-in-law's old computer trying to save her photos on a laptop that died. We were able to save all of them and place them on her new laptop. Worked great!
