I used this encloure to upgrade on the old HDD from a laptop to and SSD. The encloure is made of metal and was very easy to use. Plus no external power is needed. Made Upgrading the laptop very easy. Plus you could use to make an external hard drive very easily.

I bought one of these for each of my kids and it works great so time to get one for me! A great purchase for peace of mind of not losing important information. If your computer goes you will feel great knowing you have a back up.

My Compaq Laptop had fab issues and I needed to pull the hard drive in order to access important documents. This enclosure worked perfectly. I was able to install the drive close it. And I can now access the hard drive with no issues.

My personal computer died with all my data. This device allowed me to access my data by allowing me to use my old drive as an external drive accessed through an usb cable. I was able to transfer my personal documents to new computer and later use the old drive as a backup. I am glad it was available.

I had an Apple and Windows Laptop drives which I wanted to gain access after recycling the old Apple MacBook and my Windows Laptop. I was able to remove the drives from each and use two enclosures to access the information as an archive in the future... Worked well and has done a good jobs very easily..

Application was to resurrect a laptop with a messed up virus scanner that would not let the machine completely boot. I removed the HDD and installed it into the adapter and hooked it to my desktop machine. It showed up on the My Computer screen and operated just like a regular disk drive. No problems with the adapter, but I still could not fix the target computer. :(

If I'd realized how small the hard drive I was repurposing actually was I wouldn't have bought this, but for it's function this thing is great. Very sturdy case, simply to use. Great for repurposing old drives

Easy to assemble and connect, If your computer crashes and you want to save the data from the hard drive this is a must-have when the computer repair isn't worth saving the computer but the data is still good

The connection to the drive works well..sometimes stops running.but that might be my old drive. The drive I pulled out of my mac laptop fits with the exception of the routed out part on either side of the case seeming intended for hardware/screw heads but doesn't work with the small screws on the side of my drive.

This hard drive was able to save all of my information from my previous computer. So easy to use and it's great to know I have all of my older files near by and easily accessible if needed.

Was looking for an external enclosure to put a 2.5” hdd in and decided to give this a try, works flawlessly, haven’t been able to try it on a high speed USB port but I’m sure the physical disk would be the limiting factor in performance unless a ssd is used.

I had a laptop die, I thought it was the screen and suspected the hard drive was still just fine. Bought the enclosure, removed the hard drive from the dead laptop and popped it in the enclosure., Easy as it get. Plugged in the hard drive and there it was. Now I have backup for minimal cost.

This case allowed me to turn an internal solid state drive into an external solid state drive for quick and reliable mass data backup. I have now bought two of these cases and they both have been housing two solid state drives for around four months without any issues whatsoever.

Needed a caddy to put an old internal sata laptop drive in and this worked like a charm. Very sturdy and easy to use. Works right out of the box with minimal physical setup required.

We had an old Gateway finally quit, but the hard drive was still good! A friend suggested buying this to use our old HD as an external HD. So far it works great!

This was my answer to my need to back up my files on old computer so that I could use them with my old computer. I just plug it into my computer whenever I want to access those files. It works well.

If you have a internal HDD or SSD lying around the house unused and you don't wish to pay full price for a external hard drive is device is perfect for you. I wanted to add memory to my PlayStation 4 and I had a internal 2 TB SSD and found this device to be the perfect solution

I searched Amazon for a 2.5 inch hard drive enclosure and all I could see were products that failed after two weeks. I got this one because I had an old 2.5 hard drive laying around. now I have an external hard drive I use for my time machine drive.

My old laptop's processor went out, but I didn't want to lose everything on the hard drive. The instructions are crystal clear, it comes with everything you need(including a mini-screwdriver) to take a hard drive and plug it in and access your hard drive from another device.
