I had a laptop that reached it's expiration date and they graciously pulled the hard drive from it for me. Thia cas was easy to set up and install. Unfortunately my only option was to format the drive and erase ALL the data that was on it. Fortunately I had already backed up the music (200 gb) I had on it.

The external hard drive enclosure case was easy to use and allowed me to access my hard drive when my laptop stopped working. My only issue is that you have to unscrew the case every time you need to remove or install the hard drive into the case. I wish the case allowed me to just insert the hard drive like a CD into a CD drive.

I had my laptop updated with a new internal SS hard drive and kept my old one. I purchased the insignia cover for it and now use it as my external hard drive. This has allowed me to store pictures and other data on it and not have to use up all of my internal space.

The case is perfect for turning laptop size HDD into portable HDD. The only downside is that the case is just a little bit long and so does not fit into any of the standard size external HDD cases I have. Other than that, it’s perfect!

The Samsung 860 EVO hard drive I purchased fit inside the enclosure well - once you figure out exactly how the screws & case work, which isn't entirely intuitive. But it works well once assembled, which is what really matters.

Needed an enclosure for an old drive that I took out of my uncle's computer and this did the trick. Quick and easy opening, slide the drive on, close and plug in. Was able to transfer his data and then reformated the drive to use as a spare drive.

I am very impressed with the quality of this enclosure. It was very easy to install the ATA drive that I had replaced with a Samsung SSD drive allowing me to keep the drive as a backup.

My laptop died and I needed to get information off of it. I bought this, pulled my old hard drive and installed it into this to be able to access the information. My easier and cheaper than going to a computer repair shop.

This hard drive enclosure was perfect to convert an internal SSD Drive to an external one. The motherboard on my old AIO Computer was dying but my drive was still in great shape... this enclosure allowed me to still use it.

I bought this to house my laptop drive temporarily so I could get data off and work on the corrupt system. It did great!! It takes about 2 minutes to open, attach a hard drive and close up. As far as my systems go, it was recognized immediately by the system.

Put an old hard drive from my laptop in this and it works great.

Yes my header says I use this external drive to power my Mac Mini. The reason for this? The internal drive is too slow. The drive its self it seems well made with metal housing, and a secure connection to my SSD. I have it connected through USB 3.0 and that simple upgrade has been able to speed up my MM by at least double. Boot times are <20 seconds, watching Kodi or a Blu-Ray no issues. Im using it with a PNY SSD, and used EaseUS ToDo Backup to clone the drive. So far its working well if it were to fail out on me <1 year from now I will update my review. Otherwise it does what its supposed to do.

I needed an external case for housing an SSD while I cloned the hard drive from a PC. Then I was able to swap the SSD and the HDD so that I had a much faster PC and an external hard drive for backups, etc.

I purchased this enclosure to format an SSD drive and install Mac OS prior to internal installation and it worked perfectly. I was surprised that the enclosure was made of metal as most of the big name brands don't even use that for their products.

Before upgrading my laptop and needed a way to clone my HDD. This enclosure allowed me to do so. The cloning process was a success when I upgraded to an SSD in my laptop, afterwards I had a portable backup drive on hand.

This was a great purchase. Got this to recover files from my dads laptop that had a motherboard error. It was as simple as insert the hard drive and then plug into the computer and it brought all the files up. Would def recommend to anyone

I bought this enclosure for my old half died hard drive on my laptop, I successfully backed up most of my important files, pretty good! The enclosure is well manufactured, well designed, easy to use, and basically that's what you are expecting from such a device!! Good!

Simply said, it does what it says. I swapped my conventional HDD for an SSD and used this to transfer files to the solid state drive. Everything went smoothly, didn't have to reinstall windows, and now my old hard drive can be used as a fairly large external hard drive.
