I purchased a solid state hard drive for my Mac mini and needed a USB enclosure to connect drive to the mini. This item worked perfectly with a simple setup.

Over they years, I've used a number of different external cases. This one is a bit bigger than some but much easier to set up than any I've previously used. It even includes a propr Phillipshead screwdriver.

After my computer was damaged the only thing I could do was remove hard drive, by removing it and installing in this case I was able to save everything. Just what I needed.

Works exactly as it is designed, open enclosure, install HDD or SSD and close it back up. Windows recognized drive immediately and data transfers are fast on a USB 3.0 port

Computer took nose dive after swimming. Dismantled and retrieved harddrive. Used external case to access harddrive on another computer. Worked as advertised

Bought because I bought an SSD and wanted to make sure I saved the information on the old drive. Popped the drive into the enclosure, and it's all there and accessible.

Needed to rescue data off of a non-functioning laptop in a hurry. This made it about as easy as it could have been. Remove hard drive from laptop with bad motherboard, load into Insignia 2.5 hard drive enclosure, make one connection and connect to functioning laptop via USB and bingo, I had the needed data. Nothing fancy, no bells and whistles, but it saved the day like a champ. Now functions as an external hard drive back up storage device.

The device worked wella dn was a good price. Only thing I would like to see improved, the cord does not go fully in. It functions fine, but I feel like i need to be extra delicate with the cord connection.

It’s a good product. Works exactly like it should don’t expect fast speed but it does what it’s supposed to do bring life to an old laptop drive.

It does what I wanted for a very reasonable price. It was easy to drop my old hard drive in and access its data.

Had to replace my hard drive at work with a larger one and this allowed me to remove my old one and access it when I went to move the files. Great way to reduce the frustration of the backup.

Purchased this to format my ssd for my old mac...this was great and it helped out a lot...not bad for price and for functionality.

This is my second hard drive enclosure. I like them because it enables me to have access to all the files from my old computer while being able to start fresh with a new system.

Life saver as my 3+ year old HP M6 Laptop died. Was imperative to save the data on the drive. Geek Squad pulled the drive finding it was intact and without corruption. Geek recommended I utilize the Insignia 2.5 Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure to make my drive useful as an external drive. This has saved me hours of hunt, find, retrieve from data diluted backup and migrate to my new Laptop. I simply connected by USB provided and migrate as needed. Once I’m done, will save the drive as a portable, slip into my pocket external drive. Setup all managed smoothly by Plug-and-Play. What a life (and sanity) saver!

I bought this to put a SanDisk SSD in it for a portable drive to backup data and carry software installers. Works well, just wish it had an off/on switch which very few seem to have today.

easily connected my SSD to it so I could clone my hard drive. Unit comes with USB cable and even includes a small Phillips screwdriver to open and close the case. The screwdriver also was perfect for use in removing the hard drive in my laptop.

I had an old laptop that had charging and battery issues but the hard-disk was intact. We used the Insignia enclosure to recover the required files from the hard disk!
