Ended up working out great because I can keep my old SSD safe, costs less than the adapter and have been using it as an external for my old computer!

Good enclosure for hard drive

Could use this for an external hard drive as well if you wanted to. it's a nice small and sleek case to take with you.

Easy-to-use enclosure for a portable backup drive

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Insignia 2.5" Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure was very easy to use as an enclosure for a 2.5" SSD or HDD device using the included printed instruction sheet. When so installed, the electronics inside the enclosure convert the SATA interface of the SSD/HDD into a USB 3.0 Micro-B SuperSpeed interface. Then the included USB 3.0 Standard-A to USB 3.0 Micro-B cable will connect between the enclosure and any USB Type-A port on a desktop or laptop computer.
