I didn't even know you could pop out old hard drives and keep using them until recently. Sure came in handy to recover some files after my laptop screen gave up the ghost!

purchased in store with help of associate, who'd of thought it was so easy to use. Watch how to on YouTube and had hard drive pulled and installed in enclosure in less than 10 minutes !

There's no real reason not to give this 5 stars. It works exactly as it should with an easy installation and it's simply plug in and play! Even comes with a phillips head screwdriver.

Used enclosure to keep Mac harddrive from dead computer

My laptop got smashe but I saved my hard drive and this little piece of genius equipment saved me from buying a whole new laptop. I just plugged this in to a new/used one and off I wen. Simple yet effective.

This Hard Drive is excellent and I was able to use everything on my Laptop to this hard Drive.

The Insignia 2.5" Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure was very easy to use as an enclosure for a 2.5" SSD or HDD device using the included printed instruction sheet. When so installed, the electronics inside the enclosure convert the SATA interface of the SSD/HDD into a USB 3.0 Micro-B SuperSpeed interface. Then the included USB 3.0 Standard-A to USB 3.0 Micro-B cable will connect between the enclosure and any USB Type-A port on a desktop or laptop computer.

Excellent product, afford and durable. RetrieveS all my data from my lap top drive and safety transfer files to extrrnal hard drive. Quick and simple to connection

Of all of the enclosures that we have tested, this one is by far the best. Well built, sturdy, easy to put together.

I use this mount for my PS4's external HDD. Works very well and was a breeze to configure from start to finish. Obviously, the hdd isn't included.

I had an extra 3.5" drive from some upgrades I had done and needed an enclosure to use the drive for portable applications. This fit the bill perfectly, easy to assemble, and strong.

Decent enclosure but experienced 2 issues: (1) enclosure became loose... so I purchased another one & (2) hard drive became defective (which might not have been enclosure's fault)

I bought this case because my computer crashed and this unit allowed me to save the years of data I had on my old laptop. His case saved the day and years of research.

Wanted to simply buy a usb to SATAIII adapter but ended up buying this instead. Ended up working out great because I can keep my old SSD safe, costs less than the adapter and have been using it as an external for my old computer!

Was quick to install the old drive into and worked great.no problem. Can't complain when a product does what it is supposed to.
