Comes with a screwdriver to change disks. Worked great with both a HDD and SSD I had lying around.

This simple case can be used to convert your older existing SATA hard drives into portable external drives! Very easy installation for those who are mechanically inclined and the build quality of the enclosure and the supplied external USB cable are surprisingly robust as well. I will not hesitate to purchase more of these cases as my needs arise!

Placed my old laptop hard drive in here when I bought my new laptop. Was easy to copy and paste my files to new laptop.

Solid build. The sleeve is metal and the ends are plastic. Easy to disassemble. Comes with a small screwdriver. I used it when cloning an old RPM drive to a new SSD. Works great!

My laptop died on me and I needed a quick case for the hard drive. I purchased this and brought it home. In a couple of minutes, I had my much needed info available.

This product is a God send. My old internal hard drive failed. I went to Best Buy and a young man employee directed me to this product. Because of him (wish I knew his name) I was able to use this product to retrieve all of my information from the broken external hard drive. Therefore retrieving 11 years worth of pictures. Lesson learned back up your info to two different external hard drives. Thank you Best Buy team member. P.S. If it helps I'm not tech savy and I get quickly aggravated with electronics but I was able to figure the product out.

Got this to perform image copy of failing laptop HDD. Worked great with USB ports and was very fast.

This is one cool product, I needed an external backup and was thinking about buying one but I had a 320 GB Hard Drive from another project and needed a way to hook this up without to much trouble. Then I found this kit at the local Best Buy store and it contains everything I needed: an aluminum housing, circuitry, an USB cable and a professional finish. Assembly is a breeze and it works like a charm! I reformatted the hard-drive to ext 4 (linux) and now have a cool backup without breaking the bank. Thank you Insignia for making this housing!

This was a very useful shell. It saved me from having to purchase a brand new hard drive. Very inexpensive too.
