Replaced the sata hard drive with a ssd and am using his old sata as backup. The case looks good, sleek, and the price was right and easy to use.

Needed a case for a laptop drive I wanted to use as an external usb drive. This case was perfect for my need and is USB 3 compliment. Worked great with my 1tb harddisk.

Easy to set up. Installed drive has been working perfectly since purchase several months ago.

Stands up to all the rest & its compact enough to fit in my little bag with all my other gadgets. I feel it will last a very long time & was a great price

I have purchased more than a few of these drive bays/trays in the past, and always with mixed results. The last ones I got promised to be self-powered, and ended up disconnecting when the cable was even lightly touched.... I decided to try the INSIGNIA version that BB sells, and was actually very, very surprised... it used a single USB3 connector - the same as my "professional" drive does and has worked flawlessly since I set it up.... I can say that it was worth the extra couple of dollars to get this one -- very compact and good quality (hey, even I was surprised). i need to pick up a couple more of them.....

Using this case to house my internal drive now replace by an SSD.. No problem, no hassle. Just wish screws weren't involved. I'd have paid $5 more for that. Works flawlessly.

This is a nice and compact external case for on the go travel needs and does not need an external power source, just the USB cable.

There isnt much to say about this thing, but it works, and set-up was easy (especially since it included the one small philips head screwdriver it needed). It is a little odd that the drive will seem like its being suspended by the sata connection, but once its back in, its more stable & any worry goes away.

I needed something to house my old laptops hard drive and this fits the bill nicely...meaning not too many bills to pay for it, and works flawlessly. Highly recommend!

I upgraded my 2012 Mac mini with this insignia ssd drive and it works perfect! Would recommend if you want to upgrade your hard drive.

I spilled water on my laptop about a week ago but and I couldn’t get it back into working condition so I bought a new computer because I’ve been wanting one for sometime now. I needed some important files and folders from my broke laptop so I removed the hard disk and went to Best Buy to get a new computer and this hard disk enclosure. A week and a day in and I haven’t had any problem with it so far. It was also pretty easy to set up. Comes with a screw driver that you’re gonna need. I’m happy with the purchase.

If you want to protect your stuff get this! Great storage at affordable price!

it's sturdy, well made, and easy to use. The only 2 thing I don't like about it is that extra wide USB port. The port usually wear out fast, maybe if there was a housing to hold the plug into the enclosure or the port and plug be embedded to protect it from damage. the other thing is that I wish that the drive could be secured to the control board or the case itself to protect the drive a bit more.

I had an old windows 8.1 system and got the message of death about "we will no longer support 8.1 after X date" so I got a new computer. I needed a way to keep the old hard drive and have it accessible because of what was stored on it - this was the perfect solution. I can access it any time I need it. Good price too.

I had plans of installing an SSD into my middle-aged laptop. My only issue was cloning existing hard drive. Enter this enclosure. The USB to SATA made it easy, and because it's 3.0, it didn't take forever. I also used it to pull pictures and documents off of laptop hard drives that I had forgotten about for a long time. Really a useful tool. And if you happen to have an old laptop laying around that you don't need, pop that hard drive in this enclosure. It's a cost effective way to give yourself some more storage.
