Works great does what it should and now I have a cheap external HDD that was originally from an old laptop that didnt work anymore

Needed this little device for a hard drive I had to swap out, turns an internal drive into a usable external drive. I hiughly recommend it.

We were upgrading the SATA drive in a laptop to a fast SSD. To make this an easy process and have an external drive for backups, we opted to buy this while getting our SSD drive from Best Buy. The upgrade went smoothly. The SSD drive went in this enclosure first and then we ran the software to clone the internal SATA drive with the SSD in this enclosure. Afterwards we swapped the SATA drive and SSD and now we have a fast booting laptop and an external USB drive using the older SATA.

There isnt much to say about this thing, but it works, and set-up was easy (especially since it included the one small philips head screwdriver it needed). It is a little odd that the drive will seem like its being suspended by the sata connection, but once its back in, its more stable & any worry goes away.

I bought this in order to use my old internal drive as a portal storage unit. It is very easy to install and it works flawlessly.

I had an old windows 8.1 system and got the message of death about "we will no longer support 8.1 after X date" so I got a new computer. I needed a way to keep the old hard drive and have it accessible because of what was stored on it - this was the perfect solution. I can access it any time I need it. Good price too.

Fast speeds with usb 3.0. Easy to install sata drives. No power cord to keep up with. Fair price. For once, I'm satisfied with best buy shopping!

Thumb drives are easy to misplace and lose. This size makes it ideal for portability but small enough that it's not cumbersome.

Works as it should and no problems to date. It's in daily use up to 12 hours a day. I use for gaminging and CAD work. The first one I bought as a replacement was doa,But was very quickly replaced, free! Like all tech,some things are doa by By ones fault. I recommend it as a great replacement for normally HDDs. Easy setup and very easy to transfer ALL files from old hdd to the new ssd.

When my laptop shorted out, I removed the internal drive, and this handy gizmo turned it into an enternal hard drive!

About as straight forward as making toast. Put the drive in the enclosure, close it up and plug it in an open USB port. Works quick and easy.

Over many years of buying hard drive enclosures this has to be the best. Fair price an works better than the rest.

I replaced the HDD in my Mac Mini with a Samsung SSD and used this case for the HDD I removed. I now have a 500gb external drive for backups. Works great.

My old laptop wasn't charging anymore when it was plugged in. Thought it might've been the battery, which would've been an easy fix. But it was an internal connection. My main concern was saving the files in the laptop but I didn't want to spend $100+ to send it somewhere to get a backup or get a data retrieval. After some Google searching I found that I could easily take out the Hard Drive and get this adapter and easily transfer it to wherever I wanted! And I can use it as an external drive now!

This enclosure is perfect for any SATA hard drive. This one is less expensive and does the job with flying colors. Definitely recommend!

I decided to upgrade my 1 TB laptop hd to a SSD and couldn't decide what would be the best way to actually transfer the data. I saw this in the store when I was picking up my SSD and decided to give it a try. I will say I made the upgrade go easy, I just put the SSD in this enclosure, downloaded the SSD software, transferred all of my data, unplugged, shutdown, swapped out the HD's and all is good. Also, I now have a 1 TB external backup by using my old HD for backing up needed files.

Houses old hard drive for use as an external drive after an upgrade. It works well.
