It works as it should, cooks rice nicely, and cleans up very quick and easy - for the price you cannot go wrong. What you need to remember is that no matter how much you rinse your rice (and you MUST do this no matter how you are cooking rice) you will still get a bit of a foam boil over. You will have to babysit the cooker and hold a dish towel or maybe even a paper towel slightly over the steam release hole in the lid to prevent "spitting starch foam steam" from making a mess. If you cover it the steam will lift the lid and foam will overflow from around the top of the cooker bowl. So this isn't a "set it and forget it" cooker. I'd recommend this item but with the advice that you will have to stay on top of it or deal with a bit of a mess to clean up.
