Can’t be TOO backed-up, can you?
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was surprisingly functional. I had trouble with my motherboard where two of the six SATA ports went out. I was afraid that my HDDs had died, but it turned out to be the MB. One drive was general storage, and the other was a backup of it. Both gone? OMG! Can you imagine the terror? Anyways, to be extra-safe, I bought this drive cradle and used it to make a SECOND backup of data, so I wouldn’t have to keep opening the case over and over and swapping cables on drives. It worked great! My backup is backed up, and then I used the dock to scour old drives and found a ton of pics and stuff that never migrated to the new system. Lifesaver. Motherboard is in RMA, now that my data is secure.

One Great Tool for Data Recovery!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use! No coding, or step-by-step instruction needed! Just plug it into your computer and this, <what my brother calls a "Toaster"> will be instantly recognized as if it were your very own operating system with icons. Uses most every hard drive that has been made from 1990 to present. Insignia, you have pulled a miracle for me as I can salvage both old and new off a crashed computer!

Works as intended and easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works as intended. Computer crashed and did every hack to try and it rebooted. Finally gave up and I urgently needed to get my data off. Succeed… it is big and sits in the table but the hard drive just clicks in and stands up so I didn’t have to worry about cables pulling and accidentally disconnecting.

Pleasantly surprised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my the motherboard in my PC died and my backup was not showing up as readable, I was desperately seeking a way to recover my files without having to pay in excess of $800 to someone to do it. Man was I shocked to get a hold of this! I listed to a You Tube video on how to remove my hard drive from the computer. After connecting my computer hard drive into the slot and then to my new computer, I was able to retrieve my files with this. I am not a tech person but I was able to read the instructions and it took about 2-2 1/2 hours to retrieve the files. One thing I did notice was that it got rather warm but I have a small desk fan that I use to stay cool so I used it while the files were being transferred and I had no issue. Best $50 I ever spent.

Works as a makeshift NAS
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was given a computer awhile back and I wasn’t sure if the drives were good. I didn’t have it in me to keep attaching them to my current computer to test them so I purchased this and it worked well enough to continue to use this as a makeshift NAS since those are still way more money than I can afford at the present moment. It does feel kinda cheap for what it’s worth. But as long as it works for what I need, I’ll keep using it.

Great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An absolute game changer and necessity. I have used this a few times when upgrading or even repair/replace situations and it made every aspect of transferring or updating a system so easy and efficient - everybody with large file transfers or even just for use as a hot swappable backup setup. You know where using four drives, ssd and/or hdd work, so that you always have a latest backup of your main drives, swapping out a drive routinely scheduled.

GEEK Squad
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to have a disk recovered from an old all in one computer that gave up the ghost. The technicians were prompt, professional and personable--more to the point they were able to recover not only the data but I left with the original drive and purchased a docking station for the drive to use as a device on my new all in one. It works very well, is easy to configure and use and gives me an additional 500GB of storage. This saved my picture gallery with 20 years worth of photos. Although they were backed up-it was in so many places that it would have taken days to piece back together. Good job by the Squad and a great suggestion on the docking station!

Simple and well built.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as an emergency purchase when a supposedly good and more portable one failed. While it is bulky if you already have a lot on your desk, it gets the job done, lines up the drives and is instantly discovered by the PC with no issues. The lights next to the eject buttons let you know when it's safe to remove a drive without causing damage to it. On the back there's even a USB slot to plug in a USB drive. All drives show up as additional letters in your File Explorer with no need for annoying 3rd party software.

Nice device for Data recovery
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not used the device extensively, but it seems to perform as advertised. I did not see the Speed performance I expected when plugged into the USB port of my " HP Laptop PC 15-dy2000 ". The Drive I used was a "Toshiba DT01 ACA100, (Sata 6.0 GB/s 7200RPM)". I considered the Drive Slow in my Desktop so I had Replaced it with a SSD, but needed a few files I forgot to backup prior to removal. The device is Simple to Use; Connect USB and Power cables, Plug the drive in then turn on the Power. The drive will mount and be recognized.

Does what it is supposed to
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These docking bays are so easy to use and make a great way to to transfer data from my in computer hard drive to a storage hard drive. I have not used one yet to actually clone a drive, but I can see how easy that would be. The main reason I purchased this one was when I decided to scan a lot of paid bill receipts and personal documents. I scanned years worth of documents onto one hard drive in the dock, and then copied that drive over to a second hard drive in the dock. One of those I stored in a safe at home and the other in a safe deposit box. This gave me a much higher feeling of comfort and safety.
