Great for Cloning or backing up solid state hard drives or mechanical hard drives to solid state hard drives . Purchased for work for my IT dept, I am planning to purchase a second unit for myself. Great value! Great Buy!

The transfer rate was not too bad and I am using the extra USB for my back up drive, and again, transfer rate was good. I was concerned because to box had been damaged and taped up, but the docking station was well protected and undamaged

Short life of 15 months and then went dead

I expected it to work longer than the 15 months, therefore the two stars. While it was working, it worked flawlessly - however the durability is really the question. A few days ago it started acting up - I could hear it racing up and down even when not in use and then it just went dead. I would not buy it again as it is too expensive to replace it every 15 months.

After settling it up and syncing to my PC it is a great back up device which is my old hard drivr from my replaced PC. Geek squad walked me through till the end. Works great and doesn't overheat at all. Great fan and just clean intake monthly and keeps cool.
