So far (after about 4 weeks) I can say it's simple, easy to install, and it works well. What more could you ask?

I had an old harddrive whose power cable had been damaged over the years. You had to hold the cord a certain way the get it to work. It was very unreliable. I was able to cannibalize the drive and actually use the 1TB of storage space with this device. Works smoothly now.

I did not have third party software just M.S. disk management. I had 2 spindle total 1 and 3/4 TB'S that occupied the storage unit they were loud sitting next to you while working. I always thought that the power connector was a bit flimsy and sure enough it failed recently the connector is no longer working. When I replace it I will look for either a quieter unit or go with a solid state drive for quietness. Well off I go to check the warranty.

I also was able to use it to recover files from the hard drive on an older computer with a bad motherboard that would no longer boot. I removed the hard drive and plugged it into the docking station and was able to recover all the files from the old machine.

Biggest discharge is I cannot boot from that drive from this adaptation. Whereas I can from most other USB adapters
