Love this dock! It's super easy to swap 3.5" and 2.5" drives in and out of this. It's decent on the xfer speeds and so far has been very stable and reliable. If something ever happens to this one I would definitely purchase another one!

It can only read/write on drives up to 2tb, after that it will have errors with the process. I would have liked to have known that beforehand

Does just what it's made for. USB 3 file transfers are fast (USB 2 connection is obviously slower, but still works fine). Have not had any issues so far. Drives run cool in it. Drives do stay powered up and spinning all the time while unit is turned on. Overall great product.

This device does what it's supposed to. The housing is a little cheap compared to the old Thermaltake ones that Best Buy used to carry. Additionally, the price is a little high for what it is, but when you need one same-day, it's what was available.

Did everything I needed it to do. No weird disconnections or anything while transferring. USB cable could have been a little longer but thats just my setup.

This unit worked much more reliably, easier than a slightly cheaper unit I had bought that was pretty much a bunch of cables that connected to each other and to a power supply. The only downside would be that it only handles sata drives, not older ide type drives.

Have a stack of old drives and this allows hot swapping so now have back ups that are a bit more secure than a flash drive. Just plugged it in, added a drive and had complete access. Now have a use for the drives out of some dead lap tops too.

The product is exactly what I was looking for in works perfectly. And the people at Best Buy were wonderful and helping me get it.

Bought it to recapture files from a dead older PC. Works as advertised.

Very Convenient option to use with hard drives from old laptops and desktops. If you ever need a good way to re-use those or to save data from them, this is a great alternative.

I needed to backup my home security camera drive so I could install a larger drive and this worked great. I also have access to drives I kept from old laptops and PC towers. I has it's own power supply and holds drives securely.

Had a laptop die on me and a Geek Squad member recommended using this to retrieve my information off of the hard drive. Worked exactly as described and was earlier then expected.

I have several hard drives and they were going to waste. An Insignia docking station gives me the opportunity to make use of them. The USB 3.0 pass through port on the back allows you to daisy chain these and other external drives for even more storage.

I had a computer that would not start into windows and the diagnosis was indicating a problem with the hard drive. I was able to use this to extract data from the hard drive and save it to another machine. Data transfer was at a decent speed and had no issues.

Don't know if it is my computer or the docking station but I have a hard time making the drives show up on my computer. When it connects it works great. Still a work in progress

Bought a different version years back, it never did do as promised, .....so I bought this one and couldn't be happier. Only drawbacks is that it doesn't support IDE.

Purchased this to try to recover data from hard drives in a computer which crashed. This powered up the drives allowing me to recover data using data recovery software.

Simple yet elegant device. Reads with both drives at advertised speeds. Great for cloning one drive to another with little roll-off on the I/Os. I would recommend this to anyone.

Over the years I have experienced losing files on three external hard drives that failed. For a long times I struggled to find a way to recover the lost files. This docking station is a great way to recover files that have been otherwise lost.
