The docking station works great as an external source to my media server. Drives slide in good and don’t feel like they’ll fall out or tip over. Might possibly buy another before getting a larger NAS. 10/10 would recommend

Ideal for transferring data from old harddrives to new computers. Eliminates the need for having the old computer work property since you can simply insert the old drive into the device and access the information like a flash drive.

Worked great. I needed to save information off of a few laptop harddrives, where the laptop itself wouldn't boot. Removing the HDDs and plugging them into this worked so I could move data off those drives without problem

This is a must for us who ticker with computers who just want to clone someone drives to a new drive. Easy No PC needed. You can connect it to a PC via USB 3.0. The file transfer during cloning is slow due to the large number of files that have to be moved from one hard drive to another! The build quality is nice. High impact plastic. Inserting HD is super easy and works for both tower hard drives or notebook drives. I did 3 clones in a row without errors. The laptop drive booted up each time easily. Also works with SSD hard drives which transfer rates are their quickest! You have indicator lights on the unit to tell you the progress of the transferring of files. The USB 3.0 from the computer has the fastest transfer times. This unit allows for hard drives to remain very cool during this operation due to its open-air design. Everything about this unit is nice. I was not able to find any cons during my testing of the unit. I am very impressed with this product.

This docking station was pretty great. I used it only once to transfer files off a corrupted hard drive to my SSD on my computer. This definitely saved my life there. The only thing I didn’t like was when inserting the hard drive, I couldn’t really see if it was lined up and it felt like I was going to break something.

It works as described. I am satisfied with my purchase. I was able to salvage an older sata 1 terrabite hard drive and use it as an external hard drive to save big files. I bought open box and saved money

I recently had to take apart my WD MyBook and was looking for a way to still be able to access the drive. I went into BestBuy and saw this item and thought it would be perfect. After speaking with a representative from GeekSquad they confirmed this would work and they were correct! Saved me $$$ in the long run as I was able to access the files and reuse the hard drive as an external drive. I can now access all our old/new drives & use them as external storage, specifically for backups. Works like a charm & we reusing the old hard drives! I do agree with another reviewer that this item should (or needs) a protective cover to keep the dust out, especially for those of us that use it daily. Maybe they don't have it becuase then the drives would become very hot, but I'm sure they can figure something out. Overall, great product and so glad it was avaialble to suit my needs perfectly!

This product is a little bulky and requires an additional power source to run the full sized hard drives that can be plugged into it but other than that this product is easy to use and can swap out both 3.5 inch hard drives and the 5.5 drives. If you are trying to backup files or even consolidate files, this is a good buy

A nice product to offer, but I'm not an expert so it turned out to be something I couldn't use. Therefore I had to return, but that was due to my lack of expertise NOT because anything was wrong with product!! Unfortunately this product nor the Geek Squad's 3-day estimate of time to resolve my issue worked well for me.

I have personally used mine to format, clone, and consolidate steam game data across several drives and it has worked flawlessly. Even going from SSD internal to External SSD, the read/write speeds were in spec for USB 3.0, so transfers are pretty quick. If you need something to quickly clone images for deployment, wipe old drives, etc... this does the trick. It even has another 3.0 port on the back so you can add another drive or daisy-chain them. But do note, bandwidth will cap out depending on what the drives are doing, and this guy requires a power adapter. Which, luckily, it includes.

The "toaster" as it is nicknamed works exactly as it is advertised. Quick setup, and plug and play access. Great to access a drive out of failed PC or I guess to use to store/backup data. Well worth the price.

Great little docking station able to handle 2.5 or 3.5 SATA drives. USB 3.0 interfaces with 2.0 backwards compliant. Easy to setup and use. I used clonezilla and also easeusbackup for disk duping.

I absolutely love this product if you are looking to transfer, replicate, or format new hard drives for either desktop or laptop use this is an absolute must have. Very simple to use and doesn’t take up much space. Inserting and ejecting the drives can be done in a matter of seconds.

Works great ! Saved me a $400.00 charge for extracting data from an external failed drive that I had a ton of Cad files saved on. The drive itself was good, the control board was bad. I removed the bad board & dropped in the non-working drive into the docking station and saved all the lost data. Plus I extracted old files from several other drives out of older computers I had. Well worth the price!!

Works just fine. I had an older version that had just one slot, and used it often to copy data from hard drives that were in computer systems that no longer worked properly. I lent that older system to a friend who never returned it to me. This replacement has already been used 3 times to save data.
