However if your drive is locked or damaged you can’t. Also you can’t copy your windows over to a new drive just like a usb drive.

The 7200 rpm drives run too hot for heavy use outside an enclosure. Also would not accept and enterprise 6Gbs drives.

I had read the docking station would work on a desktop and in write up another maybe. internet ordering was not good, i had wanted a open package. After going to set up payment it said i had to be 50 miles out. why did my store let me order it until payment time. I also had some reward money. I talked with support and she was not trained to explain to me how to purchase. I did get my rewards. Delivery was direct to the home and very fast.

Sometimes new and certain thing refurbished but either way . There electronics is made very weak. However the price is usually lower than the rest.

I do think that this unit does seem a little fragile and was very carefule when plugging the drives in to not break anything.
