Low quality and unreliable for me. Right out of the box, it would freeze during transfers, corrupt files etc. I tried different policy settings such as enabling and disabling write caching with no benefit. I have another single slot docking station I tried that worked fine and connecting straight to my motherboard worked fine too. I don't recommend this device if your data is important to you. The only pro I can think of is that when it works, it works well.

This worked for what I wanted it for which is to quickly format many drives and save stuff to them. However, when I insert two drives, only one of them works. It is not reading simultaneous drives for me. Too much of a hassle to return it, so I kept it.

    It works but...

My 10 year old PC died with an automatic Windows 10 update and I had to transfer files from the disks on the old computer to the new one. This looked like a good tool for the job. with two drives plugged in, I I transferred files over from the first drive. The next day, I went to transfer files form the second drive, but it was no longer readable. (it was fine when I first plugged it in.) I had to send the drive to an outside service and pay $800 to recover it. I don't know whether this device caused the issue but suggest that you be very cautious.

I was looking forward to getting a docking station for my hard drives. It works, but sometimes it will not read a drive. I would like to see one made for the old IDE hard drives.

This dock is useful when it powers up. Sometimes it won't power on, but when its on/off switch works right, the connection to the computer seems solid and it works fine.

You can only view and save files, images, and videos. However if your drive is locked or damaged you can’t. Also you can’t copy your windows over to a new drive just like a usb drive.

Works great for 5400 RPM drives and for short runs of enterprise 7200 RPM drives. The 7200 rpm drives run too hot for heavy use outside an enclosure. Also would not accept and enterprise 6Gbs drives.

It easy to misalignment on a 2 1/2 hard drive on to the pins and bend them. There should be a window so you can see the connections.

The setup was easy, but the unit did not work on a desktop. I had read the docking station would work on a desktop and in write up another maybe. internet ordering was not good, i had wanted a open package. After going to set up payment it said i had to be 50 miles out. why did my store let me order it until payment time. I also had some reward money. I talked with support and she was not trained to explain to me how to purchase. I did get my rewards. Delivery was direct to the home and very fast.

Seems to work well for the five or six drives I had laying around doing nothing. I needed more digital storage so with this interface and the drives I had I have another 10TB of space. So far so good!!

Was able to use this ok to duplicate a SSD hard drive. I do think that this unit does seem a little fragile and was very carefule when plugging the drives in to not break anything.
