    I hadn't taken into consideration the vertical position of the hard drives not good for spindles of hard drives. Vibration is awful, poorly thought-out design and engineering.

    It worked twice and died, thankfully the data I really needed to transfer was on the first drive. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

    Defective, would not work. I received assistance from a computer expert, and after extensive testing determined the unit was defective. (Best Buy refused to accept return)

    I got this to be able to move old files from a previous hard drive and it just wouldn't do it. I hooked it up into my new computer via usb cable and it would never find any files. it would say the hard drive had 40% left but nothing found so i know the hard drive was not corrupt. then i tried an old ssd drive and it froze up my computer!! the dock itself is very cheaply made, i bet 1 drop and it would be shattered

    Do not buy the dock DOA

    Had one of my SATA docks bite the dust so I went to my local BB and bought this shoddy piece of garbage I've used multiple docks over the years, I have an iMac with a small SSD, I have two 8TB drives to hold my data one is a primary drive the other a backup, I plugged in the new insignia used the same usb cable that went to my iMac DOA swapped out the usb cable DOA. The drives spun up but no icons appeared, never any more insignia cross my threshold ever ever

    I was stoked when I first saw this. I am on my second one the first giving me tha same problems.. It worked great for about 2-3 days then I'm still willing to blame trolls or gremilins but .....

    I may have just got a bad one but it would not connect to my computer. It kept losing connection and would not stay connected for very long. The drives fit very loosely in the socket which may be part of the connection problem.

    This was much more complicated to use than I was led to believe. I would not have purchased it if I knew what it was really going to be like. You win some, and others you just don't repeat.

    Broke My Hard Drive

    I was excited to get this. I inserted the hard drive in the docking station. When I hooked it up to my computer, my computer would not recognize this. I read the instructions over and over again but could not get this to work. When I ejected the hard drive, I noticed this docking station broke off a piece of my hard drive and now Im unable to use it. Im beyond upset and will NEVER buy this product again. This is the second time I had an issue with this brand. I dont recommend anyone buy this brand

    This device worked fine when it worked. But after two months it began doing odd things. Drives would disappear at random. Finally they disappeared for good. All the lights are on but the drives disappear after a minute or two of connection. My old single bay dock still works great connected to the same usb port.

    Unnecessary recommendation from GeekSquad

    My external hard drive data cable plug broke. Geek Squad told me this $50 item was required to get to my data (or I could pay them more money to transfer it for me). Learned from 2 others who work in IT that all that was needed was a simple cable that cost a few dollars. This has happened before at Best Buy. My new TV does not take RCA jacks. Best Buy Geek Squad does not carry nor recommend the inexpensive cord adapter to deal with it. . They only carry the $50 solution and do not mention that you could purchase something for a fraction of the cost elsewhere that works.

    It is garbage. Destroyed my hard drives after tsking HOURS of waiting for it to get done tranferring. Save your money and buy a name brand. This is just pure trash. I lost several hundred dollars in it destroying my hard drives.

    Nearly started a fire, fried my SSD. Everything is gone. I reached out for support but got nothing back. I absolutely hate this company, along with Best Buy for not reaching back out.

    I should have stated the age of my Disks that I wanted to read. Turns out the was a waste of money and effort. I assume the device works with more recent hard drives
