||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace my 22" Insignia TV that I used as a TV, computer monitor, and entertainment display. The 24" Insignia TV does not function like the previous TV. First, it wants to be the center of the universe - all A/V sources must be connected to the TV, not through a receiver. The result is I cannot play audio CDs or MP3 files unless the TV is on. This is extremely wasteful of energy. The TV is also unable to detect the computer input unless my receiver/amplifier is also turned on and switched to TV input. Once connected it displays fine, even if the receiver is turned off. If the input is switched to another HDMI input or antenna for some time, then switched back to the computer input - the signal is often not detected and requires multiple, sometimes many, round trips through the home screen and input selections before reconnecting. Two separate techs at Insignia support acted like this had never happened before and diagnosed it as a bad input controller. The same model replacement TV has the same dysfunction. It appears that this TV was never intended to be used as a computer monitor; since the HDMI input renaming options don't include anything like computer, PC, laptop, etc. Might be OK if you just want to use it as a TV or game console.
