No such luck! For reasons I don't understand I was guided to apply for an Amazon account. It took forever and, finally, I got to a point where I was informed that I already had an account with Amazon. Brilliant!! I couldn't figure out how to disengage from all that junk. This went on for about three weeks. I finally was able to get the thing to work without all the extra garbage. I didn't want to play movies, do social media, etc., etc., etc.: I just wanted a simple TV set. (My last TV -- also an Insignia -- conked, or, at least the video display conked. The sound still worked. The next time I buy a TV (and may it be close to never), I'll avoid products like this and try to get the simplest thing I can find.

There is also no Miracast on it. I bought it hoping to be able to at least mirror video conferencing apps to the Fire TV Edition from my android. (Apps are mostly for movies and tv series. There is imdb freedive and one other app but most are rent or buy.) Mirroring seems limited to youtube or your very own photos and videos located on your phone. The Fire TV app replaces your remote; it's not for mirroring. So I'm looking for an hdmi cable/adapter from Fire TV to android but it's mostly available from China unless you want to spend $30+. Again, the apps on Fire TV Edition are very limited by Amazon. It's not like Google Play Store nor Apple Store. No Line app, no Viber, no Whats App, no Skype. Cannot even connect my bluetooth headphones.
