10 months old and it's needs to be replaced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased 10/2019, as of 7/20/2020 and this refrigerator completely stopped working. ***Dealing with BestBuy, Geek Squad, and AIG to get any sort of repair and replacement has been a nightmare. Came home on 7/20/20 to find the refrigerator was warm. BB and GS already closed, called GS the next AM, set up an appointment with a 3rd party company (found it strange GS themselves were not coming out). Appointment set for Th 7/23/20. Got a confirmation email. Th 7/23 the appointment window comes and goes without a tech, called Geek Squad Special Forces, I was told the repair service didn't have a tech to send for 7/23 and was rescheduled 7/24 without notification to me. Imagine my frustration in now having to reschedule 2 of my days to meet this repair tech at my house. On 7/24 this third party tech shows up, looks at the fridge for about 10 minutes, says we need a new evaporator cooling system and he needs to order parts and leaves. Thats all I got and waited for? Quickly looking up this third party company on Yelp I readily find a plethora of 1 star reviews stating this company does just that, looks at the appliance, said they need to to order parts and never heard from again. I call GSSF again the next day to explain my situation and dismay for the company that came out, they set up another appointment with another 3rd party repair service, this one has a better history and reviews per Yelp. So second service tech shows up on 7/29 (it's been 9 days now my family and I have been without a refrigerator). Tech takes a thorough look at the fridge and says, we need a new fridge. He states there's no tech support or parts from Insignia. The repair tech stated he was surprised a 3rd party was handling this repair and not GS right from the start directly. He also stated he used to work for GS and knows how it should work for warranty and repair work and this is not it. He tries to call GSSP and AIG directly while he's at my house but of course he's on hold. He had to go to another repair call but promised he would update the repair portal and speak with someone at GS/AIG (AIG handles the warranty). It is now 7/30/20, there is a replacement reccomendayion but I've been told it's has to go through the claims department before a replacement can be sent, which takes 3-5 business days. ***It's been 10 days and counting without a refrigerator that's under warranty and BB protection plan. I've been on hold for 6 phone calls over the last 10 days for at least 1 hour if not longer. Who has time to do this? I still have no idea when I'll be getting a refrigerator. I'm guessing it will be sometime early next week I hear word and who know how long it will take to even get another unit after that. I'm hoping I have the option to switch to a different brand all together. Unfortunately I'm still on hold to speak to a GSSF supervisor (this call is currently at 1:51:43, yes almost 2 hours). Do no buy anything Insignia. Stay AWAY

Has enough space to store all my food drinks and frozen items. Has energy saving mode as well as super freezing mode. Icemaker is in bottom compartment

Not very happy at the moment

But water dispenser stop working same evening, ice makers also stopped dispensing after one batch. The fridge is also making this very noticeable humming noise after each time I open the fridge for even just few seconds. Called best buy for support and only got call back after several attempt and couple days later. Will see what the technician (from BB/geek squad) have to say tomorrow when he comes to look at it. Initial diagnostic over the phone is water valve needs to replace. Not very happy with it at the moment.

Regret Buying this. You get what you pay for

We purchased it 3 months ago and within the first few weeks the deli drawers would get stuck on the tracks and we couldn't open it anymore. So when in a few weeks of purchasing it we needed to get it serviced. Then once again a few weeks after that we needed to get the ice machine serviced because the ice tray would not drop the ice which would then freeze over completely resulting to a giant block of ice in the compartment rather then ice cubes. Service guy called me the day we were supposed to get it serviced that he cannot get a replacement part because there is no replacement. We were told that Insignia is a Best Buy brand and they do not have a manufacturer. So now we have no idea what we are going to do and regretting making this purchase entirely without even knowing that information. So you get what you pay for. Our advice is purchase a refrigerator who has a manufacture track record of actually being able to fix things! And save up to pay more, because you do get what you pay for!

Excellent fridge

We were in the market for a French-door style since that’s what we had, but everything seemed out of our price range. When this one came on sale, we decided to go look at it and ultimately get it, and we are super happy. From the sale to delivery to daily use, this has been an excellent buy. Don’t be worried about the brand - it’s an excellent quality fridge for much less money! No “ragrets.”

I love that the water spout is on the inside and the ice maker is great. My husband will use the whole container of ice every morning for his cooler and we always have enough ice again by mid day. I have had no problems whatsoever.

Love the top pull out tray in the freezer. The refrigerator drawers are very roomy. Love the LED lighting and beeps that alert if the door is open.

Stopped working,, didn't even have it a year.

I called and they told me they would have to send out a whole shelf unit when i got that it didn't include the screws i needed. my top two shelves sag in the middle. the ice make and water dispenser quit working after a few months. Not only did the whole refrigerator stop working before it was a year old, but it only keeps getting worse it was unable to be repaired for weeks because of covid 19 and i do understand the problems that caused. I was expecting everything to be fine after the state was in the green, but just to get a hold of someone was hours then I was told to talk to someone else for a work order which was never explained the first essential call. Next, finally I got an appointment to get it repaired but received several calls two days before the scheduled day from the repair person, but I was unable to return because I work all night shifts at a hospital. Wednesday June 17, the day of the appointment arrived no call no show. I called again and no one can get threw and I've tried several numbers to set up another appointment. I feel this was the worst experience dealing with an appliance. The refrigerator is junk and is not worth the money they are asking no matter how much they claim to be taking off the tag. Honesty this whole experience has changed my opinion on BestBuy as a company.

Super disappointed it quit working after 3 months

Called Best Buy and they are sending another one but it can’t get her for 4 days.. ok.. then the actual top part the fridge itself just quit 2days later. Really disappointed cause I loved it! Hoping for better luck with the next one if not we’ll pay the difference and get something name brand like Samsung. Feeling like I should have done that to begin with...

Great price and quality

The shelves are easy to to adjust, the lighting inside is perfect brightness and the alarm on the door if its left open is a great reminder just in case. The freezer space is great as well. I love that the ice machine is easy for access for the whole family.

I've had 2 replaced bad!

Repair man says bad circuit boards, and this was his 5th one he's had to look at/ He also said he would look for a new board. What does that mean? Don't they carry so,me in stock where they make them? Horrible experience. Now I'm waiting another week to see if they can fix it. Never buy that company again!

Great use of space

Use a microfiber towel to easily wipe fingerprints. And, magnets stick to the surface! Installers did a great job, had to remove and reinstall my front door. Very polite and professional.

Too many little ones at my home. It had a dent in it from shipping. I was given a gift card but it wasn’t a visa it’s for Best Buy and can’t get other gift cards.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND BEST BUY OR THIS UNIT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Today is the 8th day of ownership. 5 days into owning this unit, the water stopped working. 6th day everything in the refrigerator part was frozen solid. Even better than the freezer section was freezing the food. I am currently on the phone trying to get an exchange, I am on my 3rd CSR in 30 mins. I wonder how many countries this conversation has taken place in? The language barrier alone is enough to pull your hair out over. I just want to be able to keep meds and food cool in my house!!! I have jumped thru enough hoops! Please just give me a working refridgerator that works. I paid enough money!
