Ruined 23 Bottles of Wine

Well, now that we can drink wine again, we opened a bottle to find that it was completely soured. Hoping it was a one off, we opened another - also soured. We had this plugged in, with proper ventilation and away from windows/air vents to reduce temperature fluctuations. So not only did we waste $200+ on this fridge, we also lost $1300 in wine. Two bottles were limited editions that we won't be able to replace. Legitimately may never purchase another Insignia brand item again.

Came damaged, have to return

I'm not happy about it. Haven't been able to use it yet. Will update when I receive the new one but BB needs to get better at shipping items and not damaging them.

Decent Value for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Contrary to several of the other buyers, my wine cooler arrived without any dings or dents in it. It is actually very quiet when the compressor is running. I made a choice between this model and a slightly larger sized Frigidaire wine cooler at Lowe's for about the same price. The Frigidaire has a dial to set the temperature between cold-colder-coldest, so you have to adjust with a thermometer through trial and error. This one has a digital LED to set the temp. My only complaint so far is that the LED display does not stay illuminated. After you set the temp the unit will automatically lock the display panel and turn off the LED. You cannot tell what the temperature is by looking at it. I will get a thermometer with a remote sensor so that I can see what the internal temp is at any time. Also, be aware that tall bottles (e.g. Riesling) cannot fit this cooler unless you store them sideways. Standard sparkling wine bottles do fit however. Wine coolers in general have a pretty bad track record for reliability. I purchased on a credit card for an extra year of protection. I will update if/when any problems arise. I've only had it for a week, but so far so good.

Possible danger & poorly made

Since the problem began 5 months from date of purchase (Dec 2020) I contacted the Insignia company several times where they said a tech would come out to assess. I have not received any calls or emails to have the person come. This is a Best Buy product and they will not get involved to advocate for their customer to have this serviced or refunded for a major defect that is dangerous. I ordered another one and this one came with multiple defects including heat coming from sides, uneven stainless trim where you can get cut and a huge dent. What a major disappointment.

Temperature setting doesn't work

When it was delivered we plugged it in and noted that the temperature was at 50 degrees. We tried changing the setting either up or down, but the setting wouldn't change. We called our local Best Buy store and although they were helpful and gave us a suggestion to let it sit for a couple of days it still didn't make any difference. Too bad, this would have been a great wine cooler.

Propelling wine cooler

I didn’t think much of it other than it was aesthetically damaged but because I would place under my kitchen island decided to keep it rather than returning it and getting another one. When I connected the fridge to the power it made some noise but now, as rune has passed, it sounds like I have a helicopter propelling inside my house.

Okay but unreliable

Broke after 17 months.

But something broke after 17 months of use and their only option for service was to have me pay to take it to a repair shop. Will not buy another insignia appliance ever again.

wine refrigerator would not change temperature

I waited a week to see if this changed and it did not. Took unit back to store for refund.

Don’t buy appliances at Best Buy.

I took it to Best Buy to have them repair it and the geek squad recommended that I just throw it away and buy a new one because they don’t repair these things.
