if you old hard drives lying around, like I do, then this is a useful tool for seeing what you left behind, getting those old documents that you really want to keep, and then finally throwing away that old junk.

Exactly what I needed. I was looking for an external box to house a formerly internal drive. This one had connectors for both IDE and SATA drives.

Average product, but with other models that allow you to more easily attach HDDs without have to deal with dissembling at the same cost are a better option. Too clumsy to deal with and too may screws.

Gets the job done. My 2 year old desktop motherboard fried and I wanted to still be able to get the files off the hard drive. I had the local computer shop remove hard drive and I went to Best Buy to buy the enclosure. The Geek Squad guy was very helpful he helped me install and test the drive before I bought the drive enclosure. Very helpful and unexpected. Thanks. Only drawback I would think is the location of the plugs and switch is in the front of the drive enclosure but I think this might be more because of the design of the product rather than anything else.

I wanted to run some old videos via my DLNA server and this unit worked fine with a new hard drive. The USB-3 write speed was very fast.

I needed a case to hold a old disk out of an old computer that I needed to recover data from. This seems well made and worked perfectly.

Not the best designed product for the job. Even though the hard drive is easy to load, it comes lose easily. If there are no other options available at the time this item will do the job.

This external disk box did exactly what I needed. All the necessary parts and tools were included. And the design made it easy to assemble with my failed, old disk and connect it as an external one. The problem I was solving was a failed HDD. An unreadable sector made it unbootable. After replacing and rebuilding the boot disk, I was able to find the file I needed on the old druve. There was only one critical file not backed up on the cloud. I mistakenly had thought the application was doing that.

It was simple to set up in spite of enclosed instructions not being in English. It works fine. I'm glad I bought it. No issues.

I bought this to house a rescued HD from a PC that was physically damaged. While it works, the screws do not hold everything firmly in place, so I'm not entirely satisfied.

This product did exactly what I needed and it was simple! Took an existing HD and plug & play turned it into an external drive.

Easy instructions and works great after my motherboard failed. Pulled the hard drive, put it in the box and it worked. Simple.

I was pulling a hard drive from a failing desktop, this case allowed access to all files on the drive. Very easy installation and connection.

This is great for desktop externals. Works well. The only problem I have ran into is it getting pretty hot, but that is rare.

purchased to use to pull data from a laptop harddrive that the boot sector was bad. had to make shift a bracket but the speeds were great with USB3.0.

I was unable to fully utilize this product due to the fact that my old hard drive was beyond reproach and could not retrieve the files from the drive.
