A: That is exactly what I did. Need to get data off of a hard drive from a old broken PC. Worked great. Only issue was file permissions and ownership needed to be tweaked once the drive was mounted on the new PC via the USB enclosure.

Q: I see that a screwdriver is a supplied accessory. If it is plug and play, what is the use of screwdriver. It seems that I need to have serious assembly to perform.

A: The screwdriver is to unscrew/screw screws that keep the enclosure closed. Two screws, that's all. The actual HDD is plug into the brace and then the brace is screwed into the enclosure.

Q: What accessories come with this and does it work for both IDE and SATA drives

A: Came with the screws and a sata cable, it does sata only, not IDE

Q: Anyone use this on a ps4 pro, as an external hard drive? I have a 3.5" 2 TB HD laying around that I plan on putting in this. I believe it needs to be usb 3.0 which I believe this is. Can anyone verify that this would work?

A: Well because it is an enclosure it can pretty much fit any hard drive in it. You should be able to use thus for the hard drive you have and use it as an external hard drive. Hope this helps.

A: I bought a new desktop loaded with Windows 10 Home, and the Insignia hard drive enclosure worked fine--had no issues setting up, connecting or transferring files.

A: I agree - the drive gets very hot inside this case. I would not use it as a constant-on external drive case, but it would be ok for transferring files and only on for short periods. For an external drive with heavy constant use, I'd get a case with ventilation and even a fan.

A: Yes, Ive done it before. If you google you should be able to find the steps.

Q: Installed HD and on my PC Drive E was indicated. Opened drive E and many files noted, however, I search for documents and I get documents that are on my Local disk C. How do I find documents in drive E.

Very Good Product
Easy instillation of Hard Drives, Great use of USB 3.0 interface, Data transfer is really quick, it meshes very well with Digital HD. It has really enhanced my computers performance.

Great product for legacy drives
I like the fact that this product allowed me to connect my old hard drives and quickly pull my legacy data into my new laptop via USB.

Works as good as I was expecting
I recently lost a lot of data including thousands of pictures and personal documents due to hardware (motherboard) problems that needed to be replaced in my old pc, but it was too expensive to replace the motherboard so I decided to buy a new pc from BestBuy because of the easy and convenient pay plan with my BestBuy credit card and add an external hard drive to gain access to all of my old documents. I'm very happy with this external hard drive, looks great and it's compact and easy to install and use Plus the price was way lower than I expected. I think everyone should add at least one of these external hard drives to their pc (the price is affordable for any budget). I might purchase one or two more soon. I checked all the computer stores in my area and BestBuy was the only one that actually had it in stock, again I'm very happy with this hard drive, I have no problems with it so far, I think it's going to last a very long time.
