I like the fact that this product allowed me to connect my old hard drives and quickly pull my legacy data into my new laptop via USB.

I recently lost a lot of data including thousands of pictures and personal documents due to hardware (motherboard) problems that needed to be replaced in my old pc, but it was too expensive to replace the motherboard so I decided to buy a new pc from BestBuy because of the easy and convenient pay plan with my BestBuy credit card and add an external hard drive to gain access to all of my old documents. I'm very happy with this external hard drive, looks great and it's compact and easy to install and use Plus the price was way lower than I expected. I think everyone should add at least one of these external hard drives to their pc (the price is affordable for any budget). I might purchase one or two more soon. I checked all the computer stores in my area and BestBuy was the only one that actually had it in stock, again I'm very happy with this hard drive, I have no problems with it so far, I think it's going to last a very long time.

I had an aging desktop PC with either a bad power source or motherboard (based on research) and didn't want to buy both items and deal with troubleshooting other potential issues. This enclosure was easy to use, relatively inexpensive versus buying online and waiting on shipping, and ready to use in minutes. I was able to retrieve all my data of the HD's.

Sometimes a person has internal HDs that they don't know what it contains. This external 3.5 sata case is ideal. It is easy to install, very quiet and performs with excellent reaults. All cables are included and works with any device that supports usb.

When I first purchased this product I didn't quite know what I was getting myself into until I tried the product and fell in love with it. It was easy to use and it did the job that it was supposed to do. I will totally recommend this product to anyone who needs it. Reformatting my hard drive to fit my surveillance system was not easy to do but with simple step-by-step instructions I managed to do it and I am happy with the product and it is a must-have.

A Network Attached Storage (NAS) drive finally failed. With some investigation, it turned out to be the electronics controlling the connection, not the 1TB hard drive itself so I bought this enclosure to continue using the hard drive (as a USB drive obviously). My SATA drive popped right into the enclosure and I've used it as a backup drive a couple of times with no problems. It was a better price than other places I looked and it is USB 3.0, not 2.0.

Excluding the time it took to remove the hard drive fro my old computer, it took about 15 minutes to install and mount the hard drive into the case, and I intentionally went slow to avoid losing the mounting and enclosure screws. (The screws are small and care should be taken to avoid working in an area where they could be dropped and lost.) Once assembled, I plugged it in and it worked flawlessly. The written instructions could be a little more clear.

The Insignia HDD enclosure that I purchased for my old 3.5" SATA drive is an excellent piece of equipment. It is a solid, heavy weight, enclosure that protects the inserted hard drive in solid aluminum. It is also easy to work with with the drive merely needing to be inserted in the included carrier and the carrier inserted in the case to have everything up and running.

We purchased this for my dad. He needed to replace an old desktop with a new one and had an internal 2TB hard drive that he wanted to use. The new desktop did not have an expansion bay for a 2nd internal hard drive. We purchased this case to create an "external" hard drive option. Works great. Much easier than trying to install an internal drive. And safer.

I had lost the cord to an external hard drive and was looking for a new cord. After talking with a Geek, he said the easiest thing would be to install the hard drive in a new case. It was easy (for him) and it worked immediately with no problems or fussing around. Great solution, and relatively inexpensive (vs. recovering the data from it).

I was getting rid of my old desktop and wanted to keep the hard drive so I could get rid of the rest of the machine. I had my data all backed up, but wanted to use this hard drive as extra storage. The case was a great fit, and the SATA to USB converter let my new laptop see the drive and move most of my pictures and music onto it. Worked as dsecribed.

This little box saved me from days of installation of an internal 4TB drive on a Windows 7 computer with older bios. Just plugs in as a usb drive which makes it easier to partition and format volumes. Then remove the drive from the enclosure and install it inside the computer ... and it works! Just like magic!! No fuss!!!

I was hesitant to give this one a try, but did and found that it is a really well made box, unlike so many others that are cheap and break quickly. This is slid and easy to assemble. Recommended. My only wish is for a Thunderbolt port as well as USB 3.

This was the only option Best Buy had in store and thankfully I was impressed with it. I had no issues installing my sister-in-law's old hard drive in it and everything was accessible via USB. I didn't bother doing any benchmarking with it but I can't say I had any complaints.

My old computer's motherboard died but I was sure the hard drive was just fine. So when I got my new computer I needed to look at my old drive. This was easy to install and works perfectly. Just be sure to take proper static protection.

Had no issues installing the drive. It even comes with the screwdriver for getting the drive into the enclosure. Speeds were what I would normally expect from a usb 3.0 device. No drivers were needed on a windows 7 box or a server 2008r2 machine.

I needed something quick and inexpensive in order to use an extra hard drive I had as an external storage device. This does the trick. Simple to use. I only wish that the USB could power it on its own without the ac adapter.

Love this device. It is quite simple to set up and use. It is a great way to make use of an old hard drive. Love that it offers USB 3.0. We own like two of these devices. Prefer them to the others I have used.
