    This enclosure was NOT suitable for an older IDE hard drive, so I brought it back and ordered one that I hope will work.

    I had a old loaded Mac Pro tower full of Hard drives and it was giving me problems so I went with a MacBook Pro. I used the extra hard drives for backup and still wanted to continue to so these enclosures were what I needed. Very easy to install. 4 mount screws (included) as with any hard drive and 2 screws to open the enclosure.....installs in a few minutes.

    I had a "spare" 2T hard drive and no room in my computer case. This external case provided easy and fast access to this drive. The on case power switch provides a convenient was to isolate this drive after making backups. This insures that during computer use the external drive can not be corrupted as it is not online. Well worth the price.

    The mother-board on my previous PC died, so after purchasing a new PC, I was able to install my old Hard Drive into this unit and retrieve all of my data. I will also be able to re-format my old drive using this case, and use it as a backup drive or extra storage. It has been, and I am sure will continue to be extremely useful!
