This item may work if you leave the drive in the enclosure permanently, but if you need to switch drives out periodically then I would not recommend this item. It does not seem to be the best quality and felt flimsy. Also, it did not recognize a drive of mine. I had to purchase another product to access the drive. Ended up returning this item.

A very good external hard drive to use at home or out.

For some reason, this product, when used in conjunction with a 3.5" Western Digital or Seagate HDD, would not function properly with my Win7 Pro OS. I finally brought it back to Best Buy and exchanged it for a 2TB USB 3.0 external HDD, would functions perfectly.

Did everything I asked of it and was fairly easy to use.

Just your average drive case. No negatives but could still be a little better quality

I bought this to place a SATA 3.5" hard drive in it. The drive is easy install, I only had one problem. The case's SATA connector didn't line up properly with the drive connector (Seagate drive). I had to loosen the screws on the circuit board for some wiggle room, connect the drive, and then re-tighten the screws.

THis didn't work for me. but i am not very good working with computers.

This case is great for the hard drive removed when upgrading a desktop to a SSD. It has separate power and activity lights as well as a power switch on the case, and the metal case provides a thermal radiator effect to avoid overheating. Five stars if it were less expensive, but is a good value for the money.

Wrong unit again for the second try. Will not fit older drives

Product has stopped working after 23 months of usage. Comptuer didn't recognize item, and the blue activity light has not been on since. The yearly warranty has expired and therefore, I have no further use of the product.

The hard drive didn't work out with our computer not sure why.

I switched out the hard drive in a new computer purchase. The computer came with a 2 TB hard that I replaced with a solid state drive. I purchased this to house the hard drive i had removed. It's very solid and seems durable, works great as a portable unit.

This product saved data I thought was lost. Good product.

Our computer died and I bought this for our hard drive. Hooked it up to our new computer and was able to transfer everything we needed off the old hard drive. My wife was extremely happy to save all our pictures and documents!!!

Recently bought a new laptop, a Lenovo Yoga 900 2-in-1. Since it was so slim and light it did not include a DVD drive. Since the laptop came with anti-virus software in a CD I had to purchase this to install it at home!

With the Geek Squad help, I transferred an external hard drive from a damaged case to ATA Hard Drive Enclosure. The ATA Enclosure is well built and is a convenient size for my computer bag, thus making travel easier.
