The TV Button controls the volume and turning on the TV, while the STB Button controlled the channels, guide, info, details your provider would have had. 5 Stars for the pricing and availability at Best Buy...otherwise we would have had to contact our TV provider DirectTV for replacement remote.

We now use it as a TV remote but also in place of the garbage Apple TV remote. Brilliant for the price
