Barely functional, seemingly on purpose

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The purchase/packaging were fine, and I was impressed while unboxing and for the apparent value compared to the price I paid. However, upon turning it on, I learned (very slowly) why this TV was so cheap. The hardware in it is so underpowered that it can barely perform any of the intended functions. My kids constantly think it's broken because it takes literally minutes (like 10~15 mins) to turn on and get to a usable screen. Most of the time when pressing buttons on the remote, it is so laggy and unresponsive that it appears to be completely locked up. This TV looks great, but struggles to start up, can't process input button presses reasonably, and takes AGES to do anything whatsoever. Once actually playing a show, it plays ok; so if you're very very very patient, maybe it'd be an ok tv for you but you'll have time to go make coffee every time you want to press a button or turn it on. Picture is great for a cheap TV and sound is typical for built-in speakers, but even a great picture quality is not enough to overcome the constant irritation of not even being able to tell if the TV is responding to your button presses or not.

Great TV for the price

Got this as a Christmas present for my son and it has worked perfectly. He loves being able to use the apps as well as play video games.

The tv only lasted 14 months with light use

This tv is in the kitchen and used only for cooking dinner. It died a few months past its warranty at just 14 months old. I will never get this brand again!!!

We replaced her old 18" Insignia TV which became too small & the screen too dark for good viewing as her eye-sight declined with advanced age, WOW! What an amazing difference. She is so happy to watch TV now! Thanks Best Buy!
