Won't empty out the hose

Vermont had serious floods last summer (2023). This dehumidifier took care of the basement so that it did not get black mold, etc. One issue: for the first month, the water automatically discharged out the hose, which was perfect. After that month, it still works great, but does not empty with hose. We have to empty the full reservoir instead. It will not discharge out the hose. Could this be replaced or is there a way to fix it?

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Insignia™ 35-Pint Dehumidifier. We are glad to hear that it helped prevent black mold in your basement during the floods last summer in Vermont. We apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing with the hose not automatically discharging the water after the first month of use. This is not the performance we strive for with our products. This dehumidifier has been a life saver. We moved into a newly built apartment that had humidity issues. We ran this 24/7 for a few weeks and it made a HUGE differnce in the air quality. Now i just cut it on and off so it is not running all the time. I could not recommend this product more. The design is very sleek and minimal compared to others. It does have wheels on the bottom (product description says that there are not wheels). It would roll well on hard floors, would not recommend trying to roll on carpet.

It does tend to warm the room up somewhat, which makes it an odd fit for a room that you’re trying to dehumidify and air condition — but it does a good job taking excess moisture out of the air.

I am so glad I purchased the dehumidifier. Each day it is pulling a quart or more of water out of my house and it seems there is much less stress on my AC system.

Does the thing - extracts humidity very good but it is noisy. Beeps when it’s full and also has a timer for turning it off by itself. Also has instructions for how to clean it.extracts water with care.

Excellent construction for my closets. Great job. I like it’s job except one thing. It’s blowing hot air, but sometime it stopped blowing hot and was blowing regular air with 45% humidity. When it blows regular air it not drying at all. Turn on and off doesn’t help, only turn off for a long time. Humidity levels that it shows sometimes not true, so you need good thermometer. Anyway good value for the money.

It’s a pretty good unit overall, the air that blows out and into the room starts off kind of cool and then it just gets hot. So I’m either stuck with a very humid room or very hot room. I can’t seem to find a happy medium.

This is a great dehumidifier, my a/c was running non stop all day until night time, but since purchasing and using this dehumidifier, my a/c is now able to cool to the set temperature and turn off.

Looks like I received a lemon. I got this a couple of weeks ago to be ready to replace an older GE in my basement that was acting up and stopped working a few days ago. Out of the box I set it up per the instructions, As soon as I powered it on I got a "P2" tank full code. I have it connected to a hose which drains into my sump pit so I do not have to use the tank. I tried several times to power on/off and adjust the tank drawer but nothing worked. Insignia tech support came to the conclusion that it was defective. I've always had good luck with insignia products but not this time, I'm not sure if I am going to exchange or go with a different brand. I have to rate 1 star across the board as it is defective out of the box.

I bought open box good condition, the moment I plug it in it couldn't turn on properly.
Other than that when I inspected back filter it was all bent,so returned it.
Hopefully that best buy will improve quality of these items,so people don't waste time going to buy something like this.

Pros.. Seems to be working effectively. Slightly larger than anticipated but I’m counting that as a pro. It pulls huge amounts of water out of the air in a relatively short time. It’s reasonably quiet, like a big fan almost. Wheels means it moves easily. Fairly priced especially compared to others in this size.
Cons. Removing and replacing the water tank isn’t smooth so if it’s a bit full, water splashes onto the floor. When putting tank back in, you must perfectly align it and push it back in with a fast strong shove. On wheels so while it does move well, there’s no handle to aid with that so it’s awkward.
My biggest con would be the amount of warm air it blows out. I had a different model a few years back, and I don’t recall it blowing warm air out. Kinda stinks since I’m now in Florida and it heats up the room I’m drying to dehumidifier and cool.
I would recommend but would warn about the added warmth produced, especially if living in southern states. .
