Lemon
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks like I received a lemon. I got this a couple of weeks ago to be ready to replace an older GE in my basement that was acting up and stopped working a few days ago. Out of the box I set it up per the instructions, As soon as I powered it on I got a "P2" tank full code. I have it connected to a hose which drains into my sump pit so I do not have to use the tank. I tried several times to power on/off and adjust the tank drawer but nothing worked. Insignia tech support came to the conclusion that it was defective. I've always had good luck with insignia products but not this time, I'm not sure if I am going to exchange or go with a different brand. I have to rate 1 star across the board as it is defective out of the box.

Insignia 35 dehumidifier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought open box good condition, the moment I plug it in it couldn't turn on properly. Other than that when I inspected back filter it was all bent,so returned it. Hopefully that best buy will improve quality of these items,so people don't waste time going to buy something like this.

Removes a lot of moisture but adds some warmth..
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros.. Seems to be working effectively. Slightly larger than anticipated but I’m counting that as a pro. It pulls huge amounts of water out of the air in a relatively short time. It’s reasonably quiet, like a big fan almost. Wheels means it moves easily. Fairly priced especially compared to others in this size. Cons. Removing and replacing the water tank isn’t smooth so if it’s a bit full, water splashes onto the floor. When putting tank back in, you must perfectly align it and push it back in with a fast strong shove. On wheels so while it does move well, there’s no handle to aid with that so it’s awkward. My biggest con would be the amount of warm air it blows out. I had a different model a few years back, and I don’t recall it blowing warm air out. Kinda stinks since I’m now in Florida and it heats up the room I’m drying to dehumidifier and cool. I would recommend but would warn about the added warmth produced, especially if living in southern states. .

Great Unit!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great! This 35 pint is replacing a 50 pint and works just as well, if not better. It's removing humidity from a large lower level area and the area feels dry and comfortable. It runs well and isn't too loud. My only issue is putting the water tank back on requires a slap sometimes as it doesn't slide in easily. But otherwise, very happy with this purchase so far.

Very pleased & impressed with my purchase .
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dehumidifier is working wonderfully, The first day of use, the water container was full within 24 hours! This unit is noisier than my Pure dehumidifier, but it is @ least 2-3 times larger, so I’m okay with that. I did purchase the extended warranty… but, I’m hoping it will be reliable & last along time ( only time will tell ). So far I am very pleased & impressed ( hopefully I will be able to purchase another one for a different area in the house)… need to catch it on sale .

Works Good, Quiet
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace a 15 year old Whirlpool 40 Pint dehumidifier used in my finished basement. The Insignia is much quieter than my old one, about like a fan on low or medium. It is working fine, a little larger in size, the water container is a little harder to remove & reinstall than my old one, which slid out & back in easily. The Insignia needs to snap into place, and if it is not aligned just right must be tapped to replace correctly. I just hope the quality of the entire unit will provide the longevity at least close to that of my old one. I had one concern when looking for a replacement unit – finding a dehumidifier with a comparable water removable capacity to my old one. After doing some research online, I discovered that the US Dept. of Energy revised the water removal capacity rating standards in 2019. Previously, 2012 standards tested removal capacity/day at a room temperature of 80 degrees & 60% humidity. Warm air can hold more moisture than cooler air. As the majority of dehumidifiers are used in basements, they revised the testing standard to testing at a room temperature of 65 degrees & 60% humidity. The result is that the new standards will show a lower removal capacity/day than the old standards. The result is that under the new standards a 30 pint/day dehumidifier would be comparable to the old standard rating of 50 pints/day. Basically the NEW standard removal capacity/day of 20, 30 or 50 pints/day is comparable to the Old standard removal rating capacities of 30, 50 or 70 pints/day. A final note, as the Insignia dehumidifiers are Energy Star Certified, I found out that they may qualify for a rebate offered by the local electric utility company. I know that a major electric utility company in the Detroit area is offering such a rebate. As far as I found out I’m quite sure the 2 models of the Insignia dehumidifier do qualify for a rebate from the utility. Worth checking to see if they qualify for any rebate from your local electric company utility.

Excellent Dehumidifier for the home!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this in my basement with a short hose attached that drains the water directly into a drain pipe. I love that I set it at the Comfort level and it does all the work. It cycles on and off based on the humidity level in the basement performing great at doing its job: removing the humidity from the air. Although it obviously makes some noise, it is no noisier than a fan and that is exactly what the sound is like. It sits immediately below our bedroom and we hear nothing from it. I highly recommend this product; so far it has worked perfectly from my perspective.

Very good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love think dehumidifier, i have a rental townhouse with leaky basement when raining. Humid, smell, and soft sheetrock, everything fixed by this dehumidifier. About 5 gallons of water in the tank after 24 hrs . I have it for two years, with zero problems.

Decent for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty much ready to plug in and go right out of the box! Works decently and can run pretty much for a full day before needing to be emptied. Runs fairly quiet, too. Couple of drawbacks are that it exhausts hot air right back out into the room and can create stuffiness/raise the room temp. The water “drawer” is also a little sticky getting in and out and slightly awkward to empty, but the handle makes it easier to manage and carry. Also, this unit is enough to help control humidity in our living room, but not beyond it. (Our house is roughly 975 square feet in total) We unfortunately still need a solution for our bedrooms.

Lifesaver!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this dehumidifier. It's so effective. I don't have central air and humidity in my new home was getting as high as 79%. I did some research and I'm so glad I went with this one. It was removing so much moisture that the bucket was filling up once a day at first, running it continuously. And I only noticed a $20-30 increase in my electricity bill (running it continuously). To conserve a bit more electricity, though, I set it from continuous to 45% so it would kick off every now and then. It's not silent, but I like the white noise when I'm sleeping. (It sounds like a fan, but that's with the turbo setting on.) Definitely beyond worth it, especially for my peace of mind knowing I won't have a moisture issue in my home that can lead to a very expensive claim later.

Good Unit
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works really well. It's quiet and very efficient. I put it in the basement and kept it running twenty-four hours. I was surprised as to how much water it pulled from the environment and how much fresher it smelled. The bucket holds 6.3 quarts and I had to empty it every day or day-and-a-half. I do have one issue. The bucket comes out easy but can be troublesome to put back.

Works better than expected.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought two of these to bring down the humidity in our large home that is split into two HVAC zones. Both drain to floor drains via vinyl tubing and a hose adapter. They work better than expected given the large spaces, bringing the humidity down to comfortable levels, without running continuously. They are quiet enough that we don't notice them, even the one located in our bedroom.

Love this unit very quiet
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit is great, you can set a timer on it for up to 24 hrs or it can also be set up to a certain humidity level and it will shut off. Only thing is it will shut off automatically if the reservoir fills first. It gives a beeping noise for 5 sec then shuts off. It has ability to run constantly if you attach a drain hose to the back. Its quiet easy to empty the water and does not take up space at all. It has been a great addition to our home with the humidity e have here in texas. I definitely recommend this unit. I've had it for 2 months and no issues at all and it works great.

Efficient and effective
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As with all dehumidifers, it's noisy, but much quieter than the Sears one it replaced. I gave it the job of dehumidifying a 1 full basement. Within a few hours the container was full. For the next 5 or 6 days I emptied the container at least once a day. When the humidity reached the level I set, the machine ran a few minutes everyday to maintain it. I cannot believe the diffrenc e it makes!
