TLDR: Worked great for 2 summers in Georgia, but suddenly stopped working. Unit is pretty loud and large, check the dimensions and consider an extended warranty.
I purchased this dehumidifier in June of 2022 and it worked wonderfully from that date until November of 2023 when we were displaced from our home due to a small leak in the home. The dehumidifier undoubtedly helped during the leak and pulled a lot of water out of the air for two very humid summers in Georgia. We stored the dehumidifier in the garage while our home was repaired (for about 4 months). When we moved back into our home in March of 2024, I rolled the dehumidifier back inside and plugged it in, but it no longer removes water from the air and it has not worked properly since. It will turn on, but does not remove water from the air. This is a big disappointment since we only got 2 summers of use out of it. Of course the warranty is only 1 year. I will probably purchase an extended protection plan for the next one. I'm not sure which I will purchase, but they all seem to be the same devices with different manufacturer labels on them.

Thank you for the detailed and thoughtful feedback. We're glad to hear the dehumidifier performed well during those two humid summers and even helped during a difficult time with your home. We understand how frustrating it must be to have it stop working after what felt like a relatively short period of use, especially outside the warranty window. Your insights about the unit's size, noise level, and the importance of checking dimensions and considering an extended warranty are incredibly helpful for others. We truly appreciate you sharing your experience. Keith | Insignia Support

So far so good...not too loud, doesn't give off heat like our old dehumidifier, so that's a plus. It does what it's supposed to do.

This unit works very well. It pulls 1.5 gallons of water out of the air every 8 hours or so. We do not have a drain so we have to empty the bin. Easy to do. It is fairly quiet. It has some useful automation but we mostly let it run 24/7.

I bought this portable AC unit for my bedroom, and it has been a lifesaver during hot days. For such a compact machine, it cools the room surprisingly fast and keeps the temperature comfortable even when it’s really warm outside.
Setup was simple — just roll it into place, connect the exhaust hose, and plug it in. The wheels make it easy to move from room to room, so I can use it in my office during the day and my bedroom at night.
It’s also much quieter than I expected. The fan has multiple speed settings, and at the lower levels it’s barely noticeable, which is great for sleeping. I also really like the remote control and timer functions — I can set it to turn off after I fall asleep, which saves energy.
Overall, this portable AC unit is convenient, efficient, and reliable. If you’re looking for a way to stay cool without installing a full system, this is a great choice.

Works great. Bought it to reduce mildew in a 3/4 bath. The air smells fresh after each run and my towels dry out faster. I turn it on for 2 hours.
I'm not sure how the timer works though. I set it for 2 hours but it usually stays on after that. Sometimes it doesn't. I want to leave it to run overnight but sometimes it is still running in the morning and sometimes it's off. It does use a lot of electricty. About 300-400 watts but that's normal for this kind of larger humidifier. The water bin could be easier to remove but when this is on sale it's a great value.

This dehumidifier works better than I thought it would. It dried out my basement floors and walls after a huge storm allowed water to seep in. I am impressed with how well it works. It's easy to pull out the front access water container and has a nice handle to carry out for disposal.

Love this dehumidifier! It is highly efficient at removing moisture in my basement and is quiet. The room air is then comfortable. Will definitely purchase again when my second dehumidifer no longer works. ( I have a large basement so I need 2 dehumifiers, one at each end of my basement.). I have used this dehumifier in both continous drain and use of the bucket to drain. Works like a charm either way!

It is difficult to rate because we decided to replace a previous one with about twice th capacity when it quit working with this smaller unit that was designed for tgesize of the space. It runs longer at a time (likely not surprising). It is pretty quiet. The humidity level indicator goes up and down as it runs as expected, too.

This dehumidifier saved my life! I was literally drowning in my bedroom during the hotter months because the humidity would reach up 55+! The whole tank fills up within 24 hours and it's easy to pour out. If it had a water purifier attached to it to make the water drinkable, I'd give it 10 stars!

Had one of these for a few years and it works great. My basement is rather large so I ended up getting a second one to have them spread out across the basement rather than constantly moving one around. One worked great; two makes my basement bone dry. Josh Fritz is more accustom to high humidity given his amphibian DNA. Looks like I won’t have to worry about him in my basement for the foreseeable future.

Works great in our very humid basement. In the summer I need to empty it three times a day, but in the winter maybe once every two days. Definitely helped with the musky odor in the basement too! Sometimes it's a little difficult to get the water reservoir out/in since it gets caught on the sides, so that may become a future problem
