Unfortunately it did not work, the unit runs but was not actually dehumidifying. Tried re-reading the manual, all the different settings and after 3 days was unable to get even a drop of water collected. Humidity inside our small house was 60-65% on average, fluctuating up to 70% based on two digital hygrometers and thermostat. Originally was aiming for 40-45% but turned the unit down as low as possible (35%) to see if anything would happen. Not a single drop of water in 3 days of continuous operation. Again, you can't beat the price and plenty of other reviews have had no issues. Fan noise on normal was very quiet and turbo was also pretty quiet, similar to a window AC unit on low.

Posted .Sorry for your bad experience.guess Customer never finished his setup, as it seems he tested it, and it works but he didn’t save that. Our Remotes using a flash memory, so all settings are stored for ever in the Memory until it gets actively removed with a reset.

I ran this unit in my problem area overnight and the data logger I set shows the humidity was at a steady 70%. I placed a power meter on it and can see that something is running because the fan draws around 50w and in the dehumidification cycle the unit is drawing 200w. I do not mind receiving a defective unit because it happens, but I purchased this as a Deal of the Day at BestBuy, but when I start the return process BestBuy.com says I can only receive a credit for the purchase price (and lose the deal). This would be a 2-star review pending a new unit, but because of the hassle of having to sort this out with people I can only give 1-star. Get on your game BB.

The return period is 15 days. I was 2 days past the 15 before noticing it was no longer functioning. Best Buy has been entirely unhelpful after speaking to 3 different reps. They will not accept return or replace the unit. Looking at other 1 star reviews shows this to be a common story with this dehumidfier. My guess is that they are padding with their own 5 star reviews to drown out the complaints. Last time I deal with ANY Insignia product!
