Customers are impressed with the 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub's ease of use, the number of USB ports it provides, and its compact size. Many appreciate its performance and compatibility with various devices, along with its reasonable price. However, some customers wish the cord was longer and mention occasional connection issues. A few also noted that the lightweight design can make it prone to tipping over.

Solid 3.0 USB hub for laptop/desktop

I bought this particular 3.0 USB hub for my laptop, I'm in the process of starting a podcast due to the fact I got laid off because of the COVID-19. I needed this device to plug in my microphone, mouse, HDMI DSLR, and my Logitech webcam. It was a wonderful purchase and it came with its own power adapter, so less of a power strain from your PC.

Ran out of USB ports on my PS4 so I got this to run my headset and charge my scuf from. Didn’t think it would run the headset through the hub but it does and works great! You could even run an external hard drive from it.

Mounted the plastic case to a piece of wood to form a ridged mount at the top of my workspace. Used many times a day to log in to my workstation and access USB memory sticks. Glued to the front of my work area, it is convenient, out of the way, easy to use one handed.
Ohh, and it is fine as a USB-3 hub also...

Transfer speed is great, but can't use all 4 slots

I was looking for a USB 3.0 hub, and I saw this one, and an open-box model was available for $19.99. It seemed like a good deal so I decided to buy it.
When I received it, I tested it, and it works well; the transfer speed is exactly the same as when the USB drive is connected directly to my computer's USB 3 port. My only gripe is that I cannot use all 4 slots because there is not enough space between each slot. As you can see in the photos, the ability to place 2 USBs side by side ranges anywhere from mildly difficult to freaking impossible, depending on the individual devices in question.
However, I can live with that flaw, because I only need the hub very occasionally, and I will probably never need to use all 4 slots. Still, I thought it was worth pointing out in my review, to inform prospective buyers who might buy a 4-slot hub with the intention to use all slots.
In summary, this is a fine hub for a good price, as long as you don't expect to use all 4 slots at the same time.

Good Hub on my Xbox One X

I bought this because I had two 4tb drives on my Xbox One X and wanted to add a third SSD drive. I hooked the two 4tb drives to this and the SSD to the other USB. It has been working as expected. I see no speed change from when each of the 4tb drives were on their own USB and not on the hub. Pretty good job. I would recommend it.

Insignia™ - 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub Review

Works as advertised except for two nagging features. The USB cable connecting the hub to the computer is very stiff and because of its light weight is insufficient to keep it in place on the desktop in spite of the four rubber disks on its bottom surface. The movement combined with the very loose fit of that cable's connector into the hub causes it to continuously work itself out and break contact every time I move the lap top. A lash up fix is to attach a rubber band to the cable and wrap it around the hub body as shown in the two attached photos which works until the rubber rots and breaks.

Works Fine but Too Small

Whoever built my computer must have never heard about USB connected devices. After hooking up keyboard, mouse, headphones, printer, I was out of USB plugs. I got this 4 port USB hub because it was the only one in the store. It worked fine, but I need more. I got a Manhatten 28 plug USB expansion hub. It works fine, too. But now I have as much USB connection as I could want, and at least that is one thing I don't have to worry about. I would recommend this to a friend, but with the warning that it would be much better to have seven times as many USB plugs available.

The port works like a charm and I am probably going to get another one! My only complaint is that it is extremely light-weight, which means it does not sit well and stay flat on its own on the top of my desk - especially when a more heavy-duty USB is plugged in. I have actually used a Command Strip to anchor it to the back edge of my desk where it is out of the way but still reachable by all the cords.

Was looking for something cheaper, but this does the job. Unfortunately, I had to buy an extension cable for both power and USB for the way I need it to sit on my desk. So far it works great, but I'm really only using it to charge my wireless earbuds at the moment. Hoping to utilize it more in the future.

It works fine. I have bluetooth chip for wireless mouse, a 32GB storage flash drive and my printer cable plugged in. Since it is so close to my laptop I wish it had a shorter usb cable tha plugs into the laptop but that is a minor inconvenience.

So even with the ac adapter plugged in it doesn't charge my devices very fast. The mouse and keyboard work fine from it though so basically my only gripe is charging things off of it.

Works as expected, no functional flaws. I took away one star because of the annoying blue light. Unfortunately many electronics now come more often with a bright sleep depriving blue light instead of a red or smaller LED. I always have to cover it up so that I can sleep at night.

It is simple. You do not have to load any software. It is not expensive. It has it's own power supply and cord - so you do not strain your notebook / laptop computer power supply - when you are using it as a desktop system with an external USB corded keyboard, mouse, card reader, hard drive, etc. It works with MS Windows and Apple Mac operating systems. Still swiftly doing the job with no hassles - after a few weeks of continual use. What is there not too like !!!
