Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub's ease of use, the number of USB ports it provides, and its compact size. Many appreciate its performance and compatibility with various devices, along with its reasonable price. However, some customers wish the cord was longer and mention occasional connection issues. A few also noted that the lightweight design can make it prone to tipping over.

Solid USB 3.0 Hub
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used this purchase to replace my old USB 2.0 Hub. It's works as expected and comes with adequate USB cable length for longer connections. Solid buy for the cost.

took awhile
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For some reason, I could not get this to recognize more than 2 devices. However, after a month or so, I tried it again. You just have to wait forever to make it recognize the 3rd and 4th device. Also, it my iPhone/iPad keeps telling me that the accessory might not be supported when I plug them into the Apple brand sync/charging cable that is plugged into it.

I bought a trash...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading reviews, I decided to try this Insignia USB 3.0 Hub. Five mins after opening box,I know I bought a trash, maybe only worth $5. The Upstream port, which is used to connecting to PC, is so sensitive that even the least moving will cut the connection. Other 4 USB 3.0 ports are the same. How bad the connection can be? I connected my phone to Hub and I'm typing this review now. My phone is repeating charging sound because the connection is cut frequently JUST BECAUSE I AM TYPING ON KEYBOARD! BTW: My Logitech keyboard and game mouse are NOT WORK even when the connection is good. The hub is made all by plastic. I can accept its cheap material, but the poor connection and capability make it a trash and waste of money. Well, hope I just be unfortunate to get a bad sample, but I suggest you to think twice before you bought this cheap small plastic trash.

Good Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would rate as 5, but this is a re-branded Dynex model that failed for me so I purchased this one. I prefer purchasing at Best Buy than Tiger Direct and this is the only 3.0 USB Hub they have. :-(

junk - do not buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Logitech mouse and Kinesis keyboard worked fine with the Insignia NS-PCH5431 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub. However, my G-DRIVE mobile 4TB Micro-USB 3.0 portable external hard drive would not, even with the other devices (the mouse and keyboard) disconnected. I have no trouble with these same 3 devices and their cables in my trusty old Anker Uspeed USB 3.0 7 Port Hub.

Easy to use but questionable durability/longevity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This USB hub worked well enough when I first bought it, providing the ability to easily connect the dongles for my wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, plus my video camera. It was all very easy. However, over the past month or so, the unit has stopped providing enough power to charge my keyboard, and now my PC constantly cycles between connected/disconnected mode. I've had to stop using the unit.

The best multi port hub that I have seen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I travel often and need to take a portable office with me. As a professional presenter and it seems like I am always making changes to my presentations right up to the last minute. I bought a mini hub similar to this one because I got tired of working with a limited number of USB ports on my travel computer.

Must secure it with tape
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The USB cable connection at the hub is very loose and prone to pulling out with the least bit of movement in the cable. Not a problem so long as the hub is secured to a surface and the cable taped securely to the hub. I would definitely not recommend for mobile applications.

Does not work properly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I purchased a new USB 3.0 hard drive with external power it was not detected by my PC at all when connected to this hub. I had to actually REMOVE other devices connected to this hub in order for it to be detected properly. I have not yet been able to get this hub to work with more than one hard drive at the same time. All the ports seem fine. Not even 2.5" drives that don't need external power. The AC Adapter is connected properly too. What is the point of even getting a powered hub if this isn't possible? Yes, i've tried changing the USB 3 port it's attached to on the PC. I wish I had kept my receipt!

I got a lemon...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used other USB 3.0 hubs on this exact laptop and they've all worked just fine. With this one, none of my devices are showing up or registering. The LED light on the HUB does turn on, but my computer isn't recognizing anything. I'm guessing I need to install a driver for it, but the insignia website is impossible to find any driver download information. I spent at least a half hour plugging in different devices, trying different USB slots, restarting, unplugging.. etc ect..... The other reviews seem to be fairly positive, so I probably just got a dud. Either way, I'm fairly upset. (Using a macbook pro with Yosemite)

Worthless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried using this with my MacBook Pro running OS 10.11 (which is supposedly compatible), but nothing I plugged into the hub showed up on my computer. I tried an external Blu-ray drive and two different hard drives. They received power from the hub, but that was it. Additionally, while the hub was connected, my computer became sluggish. Not every keystroke on my keyboard was recognized and my mouse was trailing and stuttering. As soon as I unplugged the hub, everything went back to normal. Do not buy this hub, it's absolutely worthless.

Does not work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed the hub. Windows 7 did a perect plug and play install of the unit, and it was up and running. However, when I attached 3 USB 3.0 hard drives, the drives were never recognized by the computer at boot time. All three hard drives work and are recognized when attached to a USB 2.0 hub on the same computer. The issue here is that I wanted the transfer speed. As an IT tech (25 years) all I can say is that this pretty much just does not work. Not worth dabbling with. If what you want to do is attach a mouse and a keyboard and maybe one drive or so, then this might work for you. But then again so would a USB 2.0 hub. There is no benefit whatsoever in using a USB 3.0 hub for your mouse. If on the other hand what you are really after is much better speed for attaching a USB 3.0 Hard Drive, find another option. I could not get one drive to work reliably much less three or four. This is going back.

Posted .Hi Sean.
I'm sorry that you experienced this. Certainly 3 USB 3.0 hard drives all reading/writing at the same time will overload the USB port you are using.

Works fine, power cord is way to short.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems to work fine, I'm not having any issues with things loosing connection like some of the reviewers. My only issue is the power cord is way to short to be very useful. This probably won't be an issue for everyone but just something to be aware of. The USB cable is short too but most people will probably use this within a few feet of their computers anyway. I'm using this on macOS Sierra running on a Late 2013 iMac.

Do not get for a MacBookPro and El-Capitan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this hub and it will not work with most of the devices I needed it for. It will not work with any of my USB 3 hard drives or my Apogee JAM 96K guitar input which I really need to use my music software on my MacBook Pro/Retina running El-Capitan. It will not even see the drives. The system sees the Apogee JAM 96K, but it won't work to record from it.

Keeps disconnecting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this device so add extra usb 3.0 ports to my new MSI Vortex pc. I knew I would not be able to connect my 2 usb 3.0 Drobos via a hub, but I have several other peripherals to connect. The Insignia 4 port powered hub kept disconnecting from the pc. I would pull he usb cable from the hub and reinsert it. The connection would be good for a while, then would be lost again. The last time I reinserted the usb cable, the cable pushed the connection inside the hub back into the hub. There was no way to reconnect the device. Not worth purchasing at any price.

Does the job
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub gets the job done. However, since all the devices are connected to the same USB 3.0 on your computer and all the devices are sharing the same bus, guess what, the speed will be divided among the devices that shares the same port.
