I have my printer and external backup drives connected to my laptop. There is no "installation" -- just plug your devices into one of the 4-ports and plug the other cable into your computer and your computer sees your devices (note: the Hub is not seen as a device). BTW -- I used the older Hub to connect 2 Arduino's which work great too!
