BB replaced it and the second unit lasted 5 weeks before it started making a loud banging noise. Scared everyone in the house it was so loud! Loved the ice when it worked. Only negative thing outside of the noises that made me return both units...it is normally loud when it is on. The fan and the motor operation are NOT quiet. If you are bothered by distracting noise then this is not for you. Paid the extra money and bought the GE Opal.

The value of this unit is insane when I compared to similar items. (Similarity meaning nugget ice and capacity) Quickly makes ice and the shape is perfection for those like me(ice enthusiast). I do notice that the unit is a bit louder than its competitors and when the kitchen warms up, the ice production does become slightly impacted. Overall, the capacity and production power overcomes any of the negatives.
