It LOOKS like the nugget ice that comes out of Sonic or the GE Opal but is MUCH harder and not the consistency that I was looking for.

Not worth the purchase

The second Ice maker we received worked well for the first 3 weeks and then started making a horrible loud sound after it was turned on. This was alarming as it had always been quiet before and now it sounds like something is being tortured in there to produce ice. Disappointed and hoping they will still honor my return as I dont want this product in my house as its too loud to use when company is over.

The ice from the fridge could not keep up but this ice maker bridged the gap well. Somewhat noisy but it was fine during the day.

Purchased and it started to leak out the bottom 2 months afterward. They replaced it in store. Loved it. Used only distilled water and used the cleaning cycle weekly. Now 18 months later and out of warranty, it just blew up. Literally. Top pop blew off and a shard of metal was thrown across the room. Now an expensive and dangerous paperweight

Nugget Ice is the Best!

Not worth the money, leaves a slime build up fast

Says it in the book and at day 3 there was already a slime film where the water goes in (i used distilled) the ice clumps together and unless its going into a cooler, needs to be discarded. Rarely keeps a full bucket of ice even with water in it. Will be returning. The ice scoop is also too large for the bin. Unless you have a place to take out and set the bin every time, ice is going to overflow.
