I thought it will cool my 200sq ft. room. Wasted my money.

It Came with old box, no remote inside and manual.

I don’t like the look of window ac’s and even more so in the front of the house. So we gave this one a shot, price wise it’s great and it had good reviews . We like it so much we are thinking of getting the next size up 550sq feet for our living room/kitchen area. It gets our bedroom a lot colder then the window ac and it is a lot quieter. I would agree with it is big. But for what it does it is worth it. I would buy another one NO PROBLEM !!!!

I live in a 1 bedroom upstairs apartment. This has been a great air conditioner so far. It works better then my previous Insignia Air Conditioner. The window plates are stronger, thinner & work better. It's easy to quickly set up. It cools real well, although it's only been able to cool the room to about 78 degrees.

Ok, I read a lot of reviews and I went for it. I tested out of the box and was super, then I installed it (ugly windows system so I had to take glass out etc etc.) Its powerful, may be 8500 BTU its more the real number, but after a while running the compressor will start making higher noise PRO: - Price - Power - Remote and functions are ok CONS: - It gets loud after 20 or 30 minutos of running non stop. - The most low fan speed still noisy and blows too much. - Energy ratio its 8.3 !!! modern split are 19! by law central house a/c should be 14 or more. so, its very bad energy ratio. I took this unit back, I wanted to use at my office room during the day and put the central ac higher. but after a while, the noise it's just too much. Or the unit was bad, or people that use this unit on a bedroom while sleeping are deaf,

This would be my first portable AC unit and I'm pretty happy I bought it. It has a thermostat control that shuts down the compressor when it hits desired temp setting, the fan still runs like every AC unit I've used. It is fairly quiet and blows a ton of cold air. My wife didn't like the exhaust hose, but we made it work so that it looks acceptable. So far so good, everything works as expected and described.

Love this AC, it gave me 8 years of good use, and then today on a 90 degree day, it stopped sending out cool air. It does blow out air like it's in fan mode, but no cold air. I tried disconnecting it and restarting it again, I've cleaned the filters and tried to empty the tank (which did not come with a hose), but nothing, no cold air. The fan air that comes out makes my room more hot than the outside air, so I turned it off. There was nothing I could do about it except by a new Insignia brand air conditioner, because the warranty was past it's due date, so sad. So is that the extent of the insignia air conditioners, 8 years? Well, I've already ordered a new Insignia air conditioner, I'll pick it up at Best Buy tomorrow. Let's see how long this last.

The unit works as advertised and easy to use. The challenge I faced was my house only had casement windows. Using the supplied ducting accessories and a piece of plexiglass, I was able duct it for a casement window. The plexiglass was cut exactly to the size of the insect-screen which it replaced. I had to cut an opening on the plexiglass where the duct opening is. Attaching a photo that makes it clear.

I converted hal my garage to a small home office. The problem is in Miami, the heat starts in March and doesn't cool down until late December. It can get upwards of 100 degrees in this office. I got this unit on sale online and picked it up. When I first turned it on I turned it to High, Cool and 67 degrees. Came back in 30 minutes and the room was nice and cool. This unit works fantastic!!!

Pros --- Blows cold air and cools down a hot room in short time. Cons --- A little heavy/bulky. Does not come with a drain hose to connect for use in the dehumidification "Dry" cooling mode. 3 Fan speed settings: Loud, Louder, Loudest. "24-hour Programmable timer" is really just a sleep timer or wake-up timer with up to a 24 hour value. There is no way to program a clock on the unit to automatically turn on each day at 5pm when you get home from work and turn off at 8am when you leave for work. This is kind of deceptive if you ask me, with people trying to conserve energy these days. But for the price, this unit performs its intended purpose and is a good value.

I have a 750 sq ft apartment. I keep the unit in the living room which connects to the kitchen. While it doesnt keep it “cold” (because its more than 450 sq ft) i am still highly satisfied with the temp! Keeps it around low 70’s. I highly highly reccomend it! Especially for the price. LG makes insigni anyways:)

The unit works well and cooled my room quickly. The noise level was lower than I expected and did not affect tv watching etc. My only issue with it is once your target temperature is reached you can hear the compressor turn off but the fan keeps running. So instead of just setting it to turn on when it gets hot, I have to wait for the room to get hot and turn it on myself to prevent the fan from running 24/7.

Worked great, stopped pushing cold air after 5 years

So I get this unit home and try installing it in the windows using the installation kit. Can't be done my window is too small which is exactly what I bought the unit in the first place. Nothing about window size on the box. So I call the customer service to see if they have another adapter Kit. No, they don't. They ask me if i measured my window first- against what? since the box says nothing about window size. But they do say I can return the unit. So I go online to youtube to see reviews and what do you know no one can use the adapter. They are all using their own approaches, 2 by 4, duct tape and foam and their windows are larger than mine. Customer service ,Useless, design of window kit terrible. Owners manual not provided but available except online. This is a best buy brand product. They need to do much better Who designs these things. .

We purchased this is the summer of 2019 to cover a room well within the specified size. Given that we live in New England, we don’t require air conditioning during much of the year. It is now the summer of 2022, just three years later, and the unit does not put out cold air. We regularity clean the filter, as required, but still no luck. I will be taking this to Best Buy to see if it can be repaired. Still, three summers without strenuous use seems a short time for this unit to work.

This is by far the best air conditioner I’ve ever had.Even on “low speed”.,it cools the room quickly!

Easy to install ... works perfectly... highly recommend

Beware this units will not work on all windows. I have a standard 31 inch double hung window, when you insert the flimsy vent panel, it blocks the exhaust hole. Your window needs to be about 36 in. You could cut the panel, but it was so flimsy I decided to use a piece of wood instead and cut an exhaust hole. After installation was complete, we used unit and cooling was good. Unfortunately water was leaking on floor after first night so I tried to empty reservoir and saw "NO" hose was supplied, so I had to go to HDW store to find a drain hose. Cost was $1, why couldn't they supply this in package??? After inserting hose into valve I inserted into a 1 gal. jug figuring I was good for a while, WRONG! after 2 nights a gallon jug was overflowing on floor. Called Insignia customer service and its disconnected! Insignia is BestBuy private brand company. poor product and poor service!

Got one for bedroom in 2019. It stopped cooling in 2024 years. Runs but does not cool.
