I would expect I will have to empty and defrost every 2-3 months. I knew it did not have a frost free feature, but in the long run I wish I had paid more for it and gotten something else..

Then not once but twice did it defrost over night by it's self due to the door had opening somehow. So I had to return it.

Great small upright freezer

No problem took it outside and let it defrost and called the store about purchasing a replacement gasket only to learn they do not sell parts and if I had bought a warranty they would just swap it out. A $50 warranty for a couple dollar gasket otherwise it has to go in the landfill. Insignia is a worthless brand and product and as I told them on the phone this will be the last time I ever purchase an appliance from them. It might as well be a disposable styrofoam cooler.
