    Purchased the TV a year ago and went dead all of a sudden. There was no storms in the area at all. Just went dead for no reason. Initial parts ordered by repair company didn’t even work. This TV is cheap and may not last than the leading brands.

    Tv last about a year then the screen just went black and stopped working. Very disappointed that every tv I have bought from here lately has only last about a year! Hopefully it is just the brand so the next one wont do the same.

    Do not waste your time or money. These insignia TVs have a short life span. I had 4 and all of them have died prior to 2 years. I’ll stick with Sony.

    The picture is fine… I tried several of the apps and everyone of them operates the same way the audio is way ahead of the video by like at least three or four seconds. totally unwatchable. Also it’s $50 less than last week when I bought it. How do I get a refund?

    I haven’t had this TV a good full two years and now the screen has burned out. I would never buy this brand or recommend this television to anyone.

    Went to power TV on today and it no longer works. Barely 20 months old. Hung on wall never moved just quit working. Delivered to me December 2019.

    Gets disonnected from wifi in every 15 minutes, then u have to go to settings and reconnect again..putting password..it doesnt connect back autometically

    16 months and tv has no picture just audio , tried all troubleshooting from online with no luck . Do not buy this junk disappointed in Best Buy for selling junk will think twice before I return to Best Buy ...

    It is clear that Insignia has worked themselves into a deep partnership with Amazon for this TV -- from the time you turn it on, Amazon's software pretty much takes over. Whether you like that or not depends on your own opinion with Amazon. In fact, as a part of the overall setup process, Amazon plays a full-screen video introducing you to the essentials of the TV and, of course, why having a free Amazon account is so important for accessing the full array of services that are available :) Overall, at 50 inches, this LED 4K HDR TV performs as well as most other TVs in its class. From startup, the TV performed very intuitively in terms of finding a network, connecting, and then pulling down the latest software and updating itself. In fact, as I was attempting to power off the TV, it then told me that an update for the remote was in progress (it advised keeping the remote close to the TV (the infrared module is at the font-lower-left). As mentioned, Alexa is tightly integrated with the main modules of the operating system. Of course, if you navigate beyond this point (say, when downloading a version of Firefox in order to play videos in YouTube), voice navigation is captured more by the downloaded software than by the TV itself. The remote reminds me a lot of a very famous company's square box tv remote -- minimal but intuitive buttons which, when navigating onscreen, keep me from having to navigate to change upper/lower-case, for example. That's pretty neat considering many other TV remotes don't have that feature. As a part of setup, Amazon asks to enable PINs for child access. After I messed it up, it was very simple to simply log into the recommended Amazon page and change the PIN there. Once changed, it immediately took effect on the TV. There are a total of 3 HDMI ports, 1 USB port, 3-color RCA jacks (for old-school audio and video), a hardwired Ethernet port, a coaxial cable port, and a digital optical port. Honestly, if you're not thrilled with having Amazon taking over your TV, you might want to pass on this one. You will be confronted with Amazon's logo on power-up, and things only go deeper with that business relationship between the two companies from there. On the other hand, if you're an Amazon and Alexa aficionado and are looking for something the size of this TV with the latest in motion picture technology, this could be the one for you.

    Great TV and Quality for the Price

    The last time I bought a TV was about 9 years ago and it was extremely outdated. I decided to buy two of these. It was under $300 so why not. This is an excellent TV especially for the price. The sound is great. The picture quality is great. It's very easy to set up and use and pretty light weight if you need to move it around. I like the small remote and very simple. Finally a remote that don't have button you'll never use. I had a plasma before and OMG, those TVs are so freaking heavy. For a bedroom TV, its perfect. 50 inch is more than big enough. I really can't complain. I spent less than $600 on two TVs around the pre-black Friday sale. You cannot beat that price nowhere. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend it if it's going to be a bedroom, guest room, or children's room TV. For a living room TV for entertainment I would probably go a little more high end but for any other need, this will do just fine.

    This TV for my mom in 2019 for Christmas the TV up went out after two years I am poor mom had to buy another TV on a very short income we were very unhappy with this TV and it went out for no reason

    Had purchased this TV 4/2019 and it’s November 27,2020 and the contrast has went dark. You only can hear the sound. Up onto today it’s been ok with the exception of the tv having to be reset a few times.

    Less then 2 years and the tv led went out I bought 3 tv same day 2 40 in and this 50 in what a piece of crap and the warranty sucks

    Bought this tv because it seemed like a good deal but after about 2 months the internet no longer wanted to connect. Not only that but the TV itself would just freeze and you couldn't move anything on it.

    OK… when first getting this TV I didn’t expect much..Man was I wrong...from the feature set to the picture quality to the build quality it ticked many of the boxes for a great price. It really wasn’t that long ago that TV’s of this size with 4K etc would be exponentially more money than this set will cost you...way to go progress! As it’s an Amazon Fire TV, there are many smart features built in to the TV including voice control so there is obviously software to run all this. When taking the TV out of the box and mounting and or installing on a stand you will need to go through the usual electronic software upgrade process to bring the TV up to current specs, which while is a necessary evil I did find somewhat annoying when I first set the TV up as all I wanted to do was start using it and maybe update later. I had to let the process run for a bit and then I was on my way. The 4K pic while only at a 60hz refresh rate (which I personally prefer to avoid the video “soap opera” effect of sets with a 120 or 240hz option) is adequate and motion blur isn’t that noticeable. Colors look great, sharpness is on point and there are enough HDMI connections to allow you to make this the centerpiece of your entertainment. There is also ARC HDMI capability for ease in getting sound to a sound bar or other audio system, and even a digital out to give you a couple of choices on how to augment sound. There are on board speakers that sound ok and there is EQ adjustment capability to tailor the sound to your liking so if you use only the TV speakers they will do an adequate job for you. I personally never use on board speakers and have hooked this TV to a sound bar. Getting back to the thing that differentiates this TV from others is the built in Amazon Fire TV capabilities and the Alexa voice control. Using these features is seamless and it just works, from watching Amazon Prime content to launching Netflix using these features is easy. Not to mention that you can do all this with the included voice remote that will launch Alexa, always at the ready to help…you can even ask Alexa to “switch to HDMI 2” and the TV will change inputs…pretty cool. In conclusion, you cant beat the value proposition of this TV…4K Pic, pretty good on board speakers, multiple inputs and Amazon Fire / Voice capabilities.

    When I got it set up it was easy. After a while I noticed the led back light is cracked looking. I carefully took it out of the box and did everything delicate. Now it looks like the led back light just cracked

    Bought this TV and set it up in our newly refinished basement. Two months later it just stopped working. No error message, nothing, just the power button does nothing and it won't turn on.
