The nature of digital means the medium (the signal in the cable) does not interact with the message (audio in this case). Save your money, buy this cable if you have a short run and want optical audio. P.S. If you have 60-cycle hum, this is also a way to fix it.

Sure, but with the caveat that they can find it/one like it cheaper online if they're willing to wait a day or 2...

Many are higher in price, but the clerk at Best Buy stated there is only one way to make a fiber optic cable and a higher price does not dictate a better quality product. This cable was exactly what was needs and performs as required. Thank you Best Buy once again!

Solved Problem Between TiVo and Home Theater

My friends at Best Buy just happened to have one in stock, I bought it, it works -- Problem solved, now I can get sound from my Home Theater. Thank you Internet and Best Buy.
